on watching this "apaptation" the overall result for anyone who has read the book must be that of disappointment & frustration. why would anyone think they could (or should!) rewrite Bronte?? Did those involved had actually read the book themselves. Despite the fact that there was ample time for in-depth character development, and time to portray the key elements of the plot adequately, this was not achieved, the story itself failed to come to life and I pity anyone who sees this before reading the book, for the may not progress to reading the original if based solely on this experience.The passion, the violence, the drama and the romance of this book are lost, worse than lost, they are ignored.
