- Ma-Ti: Wow, are we glad to see you!
- Gi: But what are you doing here? Did that crazy soldier capture you, too?
- Commander Clash: [from behind] No. He did not. The "crazy soldier" is letting you all go.
- Kwame: [on his computer, Linka shows Clash photos of the Berlin Wall's falling] The world has changed, Commander. Borders have opened. A new peace has begun. The enemy you were guarding against no longer exists.
- Commander Clash: This is a lie!
- [slams his fist on the control desk, the picture fades]
- Kwame: You saw the truth with your own eyes, Commander. Accept it. This radar station is no longer needed.
- Commander Clash: [picks up a telephone] Home Base, this is Watchdog. Report, Homebase. Is Watchdog necessary? Report.
- [pauses as his gets a reply]
- Commander Clash: Watchdog... no longer necessary?
- [listens to another response]
- Commander Clash: Obsolete?
- [hangs up and walks across the room]
- Commander Clash: If this station is obsolete, then... so am I.
- Linka: But that is not true. You are brave, and intelligent.
- Wheeler: The world will always need people like you.
- Ma-Ti: When we leave this island, we want you to come with us, Commander Clash.
- Commander Clash: No. I am like this equipment, no longer needed. OBSOLETE.
- Gi: At least Clash gave us tools to repair the Geocruiser.
- Ma-Ti: Yes. But it is too bad he lacks the courage to come with us.
- Wheeler: What're you talking about? Clash is just about the bravest guy I ever met!
- Ma-Ti: To fight an enemy, yes. But to face a new world - no.
- Kwame: Ma-Ti is right. The greatest courage is the courage to change. And I fear the Commander may not find that courage.
- Sly Sludge: Captain Pollution is headed this way!
- Looten Plunder: I bet he took care of those Planet brats.
- MAL: I wouldn't make that bet, Plunder. According to *my* calculations, Captain Pollution is in *big* trouble.
- Wheeler: [grinning] If anybody can beat those creeps, it's Commander Clash.
- Commander Clash: Once, maybe, but not now. I am a... a relic. I am of no use to you. This is not my kind of mission.
- [exits the plane]
- Ma-Ti: [approaching him on the beach] You are wrong about yourself, Commander.
- Commander Clash: Why do you say that?
- Ma-Ti: [gestures to his bulldozer with natural, clean weapons built in] A relic would not build that, or solar generators, or water-wheels like at your camp.
- Kwame: [showing up with the others] And who better to lead the mission to save Earth than yourself?
- Ma-Ti: Please, Commander. If you do not help us stop Captain Pollution and his friends, the entire world could look like that.
- [points to the trees Captain Pollution burned, Clash's expression hardens and he lowers his gaze]
- Commander Clash: [looking at them again] Very well. I *will* lead you.
- Ma-Ti: [Clash hands out a sonic jackhammer, a portable wind-generator, a wrist-mounted flame-thrower, and a water-pump backpack to replace four of the stolen rings] But what about... Heartpower? You cannot replace *that* with technology.
- Commander Clash: I don't have to. No one can take away your heart-power, Ma-Ti. And your sharing it has given me the strength to do what I must do: help the mission to save Earth.
- Captain Pollution: [lunging] I'll show you who's boss around here!
- Captain Planet: There *is* no boss around here, Pollution! We're a team. Which is why we'll always beat you!
- Captain Pollution: [groaning after Captain Planet has dragged him through clean earth, fire, wind, and water] Oh, have a heart, Captain Planet.
- Captain Planet: [grinning] Oh, don't worry, Pollution.
