Akira Toriyama has given a lot of thought to his magnum opus, the Dragon Ball series where he tells the story with his mighty and lovable protagonist, Son-Goku. Throughout the series’ run, the character has continuously surprised us as he pushed beyond his physical limits and showcased to the fans what it means to break past your limits. Such was the case when he transformed into Super Saiyan for the very first time.

While Ssj was iconic and marked a major landstone in the history of the series, there was another technique, that the Saiyan used to do, which put immense strain on his body. Now, he integrates this technique with his Ssj form which is slowly killing his body, due to the two techniques’ conflicting nature.

When Kaiju No. 8 debuted in April 2024, fans had a lot of expectations from the series, as the series was already successful in the manga industry. Eventually, the anime series lived up to its expectations and became one of the best action anime series of the current year. However, Kaiju No. 8 brought with it a new twist, which is not often seen in the anime world.
Kafka – Kaiju No. 8
The twist was introduced through the protagonist of the series, Kafka Hibino. Kafka was a cleaner for Monster Sweeper Inc., but he always wanted to join the Defense Force to eradicate the Kaiju, or “monsters,” that have infested the world and are wreaking havoc. But later on, he himself becomes a Kaiju, and the story becomes more and more interesting.
The twist that Kafka brought with him was that he defied the physical stereotypes of the Shonen main character.

The Jujutsu Kaisen saga is getting even more exciting with each new update, and the recently released chapter 259 has further landed a piece of significant news for fans. While this chapter brought about a devastating turn of events for fans as Choso loses his life after saving Yuji, it also gave fans some exciting news that many of them had been waiting for all along: Aoi Todo’s return.
Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yes, you read it right, because Todo has most certainly returned to the manga thanks to an old backup plan he made with Mei Mei. And now that he has seemingly come back to rescue his brother and fight alongside him, this also signifies that an old theory about his Boogie Woogie technique could just be true, and fans may experience that iconic technique returning once again.

Jujutsu Kaisen has taken a surprise turn with the latest chapter. The situation was entirely under Ryomen Sukuna’s control, but with simultaneous character introduction, the Jujutsu society has got the upper hand over the King of Curses. Higuruma slowed down Sukuna, and after that, Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu teamed up. It went on with Miguel, Maki, Choso, etc.
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259 will have several important moments, but the most crucial is the return of a fan-favorite character, who was last seen almost a hundred chapters ago. His return helped Itador get back up and take on a weakened Sukuna. Itadori also had a power boost and hit him with eight consecutive Black Flash.

When Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen first came out in 2018, fans instantly fell in love with the series because it introduced a band of negative characters who, despite their terrifying motives and ambitions, had a certain charm to them. Although every anime or manga series has at least one antagonist that becomes a fan favorite, Jujutsu Kaisen still stands out.
Sukuna and Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen
This was because other anime and manga series usually have a sympathetic or sad background story for the antagonist to make fans understand the feelings and reasoning behind their actions in the storyline. Akutami once revealed that they don’t like the idea of using sympathy for villains.
They pointed out that the simple explanation of the collision between the convictions of the protagonist and the antagonist is enough to fuel the rage of characters like Sukuna and make them cold-hearted villains who want to destroy the world.

There have been many translation errors throughout the course of Jujutsu Kaisen. Whether it is in the manga or the anime, subtitles, and official translations mistake certain words for the most bizarre counterparts. This leads to blunders that further tamper with the lore. One such example was during the epic battle between Mahoraga and Sukuna during the second season.
Yuji and Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen | Credit: Mappa
Not only did the subtitles mess up Mahoraga’s name, but they also made a grave error with a much-awaited moment- the King of Curses’ domain expansion. The name provided by Gege Akutami holds strong as Malevolent Shrine. However, Crunchyroll mistakenly made it into Malevolent Kitchen. What then became a joke also led to a possible theory, one that may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
Sukuna’s Three Big Cooking Skills
Sukuna’s ‘Malevolent Kitchen’ is perhaps the most common joke made about a mistake.

"Jujutsu Kaisen" is not just a popular anime, it is Guinness World Records' most in-demand anime series in the world, and it's easy to see why. The anime adaptation of Gege Akutami's manga of the same name is full of memorable characters, a great sense of humor, stunning horror-inspired imagery, and some phenomenal action and animation by Studio Mappa. It doesn't hurt that the first season had one of the best opening sequences and theme songs of the past decade, as well as a fantastic and eclectic soundtrack that even takes inspiration from Billie Eilish.
The show takes place in a world of sorcerers and Curses, spirits caused by negative emotions that haunt humanity. The main story follows Yuji, who joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers after he inadvertently becomes the host of the world's most powerful Curse, named Sukuna.

So much so that it became an inspiring moment in return, making him want to write and draw more of One Piece.

However, Akutami-san’s and Oda-Sensei’s work remains on top of the charts, both mangas have broken numerous records in 2023.
A still from Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen
Jjk claimed the title of #1 anime as it was immensely popular among its viewers, while Op kept its viewers hooked on the series as the manga progressed into one of its final arcs. Despite immense popularity, neither of the two titles claimed the spot of the most-selling manga in 2023. In a recent interview with Men’s Non-No the producer of Bleach, Yoshihiko Tominaga, disclosed that Studio Pierrot is launching a new studio ‘Pierrot Films’.
By launching the new sub-brand, Studio Pierrot, known for long-running series like Naruto and Bleach, is making a strategic shift, acknowledging the evolving anime landscape and the growing demand for high-quality, shorter-season anime, a trend Pierrot hasn’t always embraced as effectively as other studios.

Hulu’s list of new releases for May 2024 is missing a certain amount of original series firepower. In the place of a blockbuster like The Handmaid’s Tale or Shōgun, however, is some content diversity.
The first of the month sees the premiere of four-episode British series Shardlake. This mystery drama takes place during the reign of Henry VIII and features none other than Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) investigating a murder. Other series of note this month include the Korean drama Uncle Samsik on May 15.
Movies are bit more interesting on Hulu in May. Teen comedy Prom Dates premieres on May 3. That will be followed by the 2023 Adam Drive film Ferrari on May 24. Before all that though is the real heavy hitter. You can watch Austin Butler’s acclaimed performance as The King in Elvis as early as May 1. Demon Slayer has been grabbing everyone’s attention through its fascinating animation. There has been no slowing down from Koyoharu Gotouge’s magnum opus. As the seasons progressed, the animation got better, and its popularity also increased. Ufotable did a great job with the animation, and fans are expecting more from them in the next season, which will take it one step toward the end.
While Ufotable has revolutionized the Japanese animation industry, Mappa seems to have done the opposite. The Mappa controversy was a massive issue in late 2023. The animation studio pressurized their employees to work for longer. With such problems, the animation should pay attention to what Demon Slayer producer had to say regarding the condition of animators.

Dragon Ball characters, be they protagonists or antagonists, are known to be some of the strongest characters in the anime and manga universe. One such character is Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7. Although he is now a supporting character in Dragon Ball Super, he was introduced as one of the strongest villains Akira Toriyama’s universe has ever seen.
The Dragon Ball universe
There are very few characters in the anime and manga world who can be compared to the extremely dangerous strength of the God of Destruction. Even the likes of Goku and Vegeta together could not defeat the character. However, Jujutsu Kaisen fans have recently made a claim that might not be liked by Dragon Ball fans.
Fans of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen shared a post on X(Formerly Twitter) that pointed out that the antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna, might be stronger than Beerus.

In an interview during the release of the second season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Tite Kubo, the creator of the series, made a grave mistake. The leaks for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 258 are finally out in Japan and we get to know what happens in the thrilling upcoming chapter of Gege Akutami’s popular manga series. The chapter that debuted last week provided us with a scoop related to Itadori’s family and his relationship with Sukuna, but that was more or less it, as the battle did not really progress further. This week’s chapter has managed to beat even that, as basically, nothing happens here save for a few new moves by Itadori and Sukuna, although an escalation seems to be imminent based on the final scene.
This chapter, like many before it, is another continuation of Akutami’s fight-based chapters in which nothing much happens, really. The characters keep exchanging some moves, we get one or two explanations and flashback scenes, and the chapter ends with a cliffhanger that foreshadows a...

However, the series, compared to his predecessor, had a few changes that fans might not have noticed. While these changes did not affect the series in any way, they surely brought a new upgrade to the series. One such change was so discreet that even the creator of the series, Kubo, could not notice.
In an interview, Kubo mentioned that the voice of the protagonist, Kurosaki Ichigo, had changed a little, and he was not able to point it out. But his family was quick to grasp it and even mentioned it to him.
