A group of Fishermen set off on board The Caistor, a fishing trawler, but after a days of radio silence, families and loved ones fear the worst.
What a totally absorbing first episode this is, it's a very gritty start, and I'm not sure how or why, but it's very realistic, the characters somehow feel true to life.
Very much a product of the cold war, political, Spy thrillers were very popular back in the 80's and this is a fine, not quite so well known example.
I found the opening episode wonderfully engaging, it starts off a fascinating story, and gives us an intriguing mystery.
I found it well acted all round, Tom Wilkinson makes a great leading man.
Worth watching, if only for the magical theme tune.
Great start, 8/10.
