'90210' boss hints at 'multiple gay relationships' on the horizon

3 November 2009 8:45 AM, PST | EW - Ausiello Files | See recent EW.com - The Ausiello Files news »

Now that the initial shock and awe surrounding 90210's big lesbian love story has worn off (it has, right?), it's time to get down to business — the business of interrogating showrunner Rebecca Sinclair about the origin of the Gia-Adrianna romance, how it'll differ from the dozens of cliché-ridden Sapphic story arcs that preceded it on primetime, and which member of the show's male population is most likely to follow Adrianna out of the closet. Where did the idea for the Gia-Adrianna story come from? Rebecca Sinclair: There's been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters, »

'90210' same-sex shocker: Rumer Willis to romance (spoiler alert)!

29 October 2009 9:02 AM, PDT | EW - Ausiello Files | See recent EW.com - The Ausiello Files news »

Why should Gossip Girl be the only primetime soap having a gay 'ol time experimenting with its characters sexuality? This January, 90210 will embark on a major same-sex storyline that will pair the show's token lesbian, Gia, played by Rumer Willis, with another major (and heretofore straight) female character. "This isn't a fling," insists executive producer Rebecca Sinclair. "We're coming at this from a genuine place and not going, 'Let's do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.' This is a real aspect of teenager life that's interesting... And there's been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters. »

Could "Dallas: The Next Generation" be coming to TNT?

9 October 2009 12:02 PM, PDT | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

It worked for Star Trek, right? The CW has gone to the next generation well with both 90210 and Melrose Place the past couple of years, to less than stellar results. So would it even be a good idea for TNT to pick up a sequel series to the '80s classic Dallas?

The premise of the relaunch would be for the show to focus on the next generation of Ewings, featuring J.R. and Sue Ellen's son John Ross and Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam, as the new leads. The producers have already been in touch with original actors Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy to discuss their possible involvement.

While there's no guarantee of a series, it does look like a pilot at least will be filmed. They'd have to be careful to make sure it appeals to people who've never seen Dallas, because »

Melrose Place: Three Chances to See the New Version's Premiere; Will You Watch?

8 September 2009 1:34 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The new version of Melrose Place debuts tonight. If you believe all of the CW network's hype about the success of 90210, resurrecting Melrose Place seems like a natural. Unfortunately, 90210 hasn't been the ratings smash that the network was hoping for. And, unlike 90210, far fewer people seem to be anticipating the new Melrose Place.

Truth to tell, most of the early reviews have been luke-warm at best. Others have advised viewers to stay away because the first episode is downright awful. Still, the original Melrose Place wasn't very good in its early days either.

Regardless, the CW network wants to make sure that you have a chance to see the premiere because they know that, if viewers miss the first episode of a new show, they're far likely to tune in later.

If you miss the premiere tonight, you'll have two more chances to see it on your TV screen. The »

McCord Eyes Same-sex Romp With Willis

9 July 2009 5:11 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Annalynne McCord is desperate to get close to Rumer Willis when she joins the cast of 90210 - she's begging scriptwriters to pen a same-sex love scene for the pair.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's eldest daughter is set to star in the Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off as punk lesbian Gia later this year.

It seems the cast are all eager to share some steamy scenes with the Hollywood offspring - especially McCord, who plays catty student Naomi Clark.

And the actress is urging the show's bosses to come up with a lesbian romance for her and Willis.

She tells E! Online, "This is what I foresee. Naomi gets drunk, and she gets a little crazy. Naomi wants to experiment. And then a little lip-on-lip action with Rumer Willis can't hurt anybody, right?

"How fabulous would that be. They totally need to make it happen!" »

Facinelli Thanks Fans For Twitter Help

1 July 2009 6:36 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Twilight star Peter Facinelli caused pandemonium in Hollywood on Tuesday as he staged an impromptu autographing session to thank his fans for helping him land 500,000 followers on his Twitter.com blog as part of a bet.

The actor bet pal Rob DeFranco he could use the online social network to boost his popularity - and offered his friend the fabric from his director's chair from the set of his Twilight sequel New Moon if he failed.

The actor, who is married to 90210 star Jennie Garth, won the bet, gaining half a million followers in just three days last month - and he signed autographs for his adoring fans at Los Angeles clothing store Affliction on Tuesday to say thanks.

DeFranco was left red faced after losing the bet - he had to dance along Hollywood Boulevard wearing just a bikini.

Facinelli cheered his pal on on Tuesday morning before the signing session.

The actor tells People.com, "I kind of took this little bet, that was a silly little thing and I tried to make something positive out of it."

Clothing store Affliction donated $10,000 (£6,666) to the Christopher Reeve Foundation on behalf of Facinelli's Twitter followers. »

Spelling Dismisses 90210 Salary Dispute

30 March 2009 9:05 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Tori Spelling has hit back at reports a salary dispute delayed her role in TV drama 90210, branding the rumours "hearsay".

The actress, whose TV mogul father Aaron Spelling produced the original show, was billed to join former Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth in the new spin-off show, but backed out after allegedly falling out with TV bosses over cash.

But Spelling insists her duties as a mother to nine-month-old daughter Stella and two-year-old son Liam with husband Dean McDermott kept her from committing to the project when plans were first announced.

She tells the New York Post, "When I heard about the show, I thought it would be a cool connection to go back, especially because of my dad and for the fans to see (her character) Donna (Martin). But when they were ready to film, I'd just had the baby, so the timing wasn't right. When the offer came back around again, it was perfect. So it all worked out in the fashion that it was supposed to.

"That was all a build up in the press, such hearsay. It was never about money - I still, to this day, have no idea about what Jennie and Shannen made or make, so it clearly wasn't an issue."

Spelling finally filmed two episodes of the series in February and insists she'll return for at least one more season.

But the actress remains coy about joining Doherty and Garth on the show with a recurring role.

She adds, "(My character) Donna's met her little niche in Japan, and she's very successful... and gets caught back up in the whole Beverly Hills thing, thinking that maybe she'll come back and design there permanently." »

Actress Annalynne McCord has lost out on playing human bait in the Twilight sequel - to beautiful Canadian supermodel Noot Seear.

The 90210 star had auditioned for the part of Heidi and recently revealed it was a dream role for her, but producers have chosen to give Seear, 25, a big break instead, according to Eonline.com.

Seear's only film role to date came in 2001 when she appeared opposite Freddie Prinze Jr. in Head Over Heels.

It's a double blow for McCord, who was hoping to team up with her actor boyfriend Kellan Lutz on the set of New Moon, which has just started shooting in Canada. »

McCord Likes Being Bad

15 February 2009 3:05 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

90210 star Annalynne McCord is embracing the fact she has become Hollywood's new film and TV "bitch" after realising she looks too mean to play good girls on camera.

The blonde stunner initially tried out for a series of good girl parts - but casting agents had other plans for her.

She explains, "I remember going into a casting office and I read for the nice girl and they were like, 'That was great, now can you read this?' Of course it was the part of the bitch.

"I had to ask them why, and they were like, 'You walk in the room and you just look like a bitch!' I'm like, 'Thank you, that's awesome.' What a nice vote of confidence there."

But, after finding success as the bad girl in TV hits Nip/Tuck, 90210 and new cheerleading film Fired Up!, McCord likes being mean on screen: "I've started to embrace it and make a nice transition into tough bad-ass roles in films, and those are the types of roles I look to play. Playing the evil girl is fun and I'm starting to relish it now."

McCord is in negotiations to play bad girl Heidi in upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon. »

90210 star Annalynne McCord is desperate to land a part in the Twilight sequel - because she's obsessed with vampires.
