S01Ep17 - an interesting contrast of the rebels' view of Darken Rahl's troops, compared with Richard's inside-view which he gains by replacing a "confessed" archer and entering the stronghold, then visiting the village where the Captain's wife and family live.
Kahlan stays with the rebels, awaiting his return and trying to teach them the difference between seeking justice and seeking revenge - a very fine line in this world.
The time with the soldier's family gives a nice counterpoint to the violence and touches on the impact of violence upon the perceptions of children. Kahlan finds herself in a moral dilemma regarding the Rebels' use of the seized weapons. At the end, our two main characters understand each other a little more than before.
Kahlan also delivers the best slap so far when she is playing the wife of Richard's character - I hope that the actors accomplished this in just one take!
This was an enjoyable episode, delving deeper into the motivations of our two start characters, when I discovered this (2008-2010 vintage) series in early 2018.
