- From TV.com:
The episode begins with Chase fleeing the D'Harans in the Midlands. He finds Richard and Kahlan and after ambushing the D'Harans they return to Hartland to search for Chase's family. They impersonate D'Harans and cross the boundary.
They find the D'Harans in control of their village with Richard's brother Michael praying to Darken Rhal. Anna (former love interest of Richard) is searching for her brother, she seduces the Viceroy and drugs him. Richard thinking Anna and the Viceroy are involved talk to Anna and together they find out the D'Harans are feeding the people to monsters in a grove outside of the village. They confront Michael since he provided the list of people who were sent to the grove. Michael dies while helping defeat the D'Harans. With his dying breath he tells Richard that when he sees their father in the underworld he will tell him that my brother was a great hero.
Kahlan confesses the Viceroy and instructs him to obey Anna. The Viceroy tells Chase that his family has been sent to a keep in the Midlands that is protected by dark and powerful magic. They have the Viceroy write a letter to Rhal telling him that the seeker is dead.
Richard, Kahlan and Chase return to the Midlands and the Viceroy as instructed closes the portal and seals the boundry to protect Hartland.
