- It's Ada Russsell's first day as the Nursing Sister in charge of Wellington ward. She is confident, capable and loves her work. Her personal situation with Dr. James Walton becomes more complicated when he proposes. She knows that if she marries, she will have to leave the hospital. Hospital Chairman Sydney Holland is still busily fundraising but his immediate concern is the impending visit of Queen Alexandra, one of the hospital's most generous patrons.
