John Cena is joining a new film project called Playing With Fire. It’s a family comedy in which we will see Cena meet his match. According to Variety:
The family comedy revolves around a group of rugged wildfire fighters who meet their match when they rescue a trio of rambunctious children.
Yeah, that seems like the kind of movie that John Cena would sign up for. I can already imagine how the story is going to play out. The actor seems to like being a part of these silly family comedies. I personally think he could and should be making better films, but I guess this is the stuff that he gravitates towards. Hey, he’s a working actor making lots of money, so if he’s content with it… great!

The family comedy revolves around a group of rugged wildfire fighters who meet their match when they rescue a trio of rambunctious children.
Todd Garner and Sean Robins of Broken Road Productions are on board to produce “Playing With Fire.” Paramount Players bought the spec script from Dan Ewen this past February and hired Matt Lieberman to pen a rewrite. Paramount executive VP Matt Dines is overseeing for the studio.
Paramount Pictures launched Paramount Players in June, with veteran producer and executive Brian Robbins at the helm. Robbins is working with Viacom’s Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, and Bet to generate projects, while the new division focuses on contemporary properties.
Cena’s latest big-screen role was alongside Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz in the Universal comedy “Blockers,” which ended its theatrical run with $94 million worldwide.

What can I say about Sybil Danning that would be a surprise to anyone? Gorgeous, talented, fun to watch. In whatever project she appears, Danning is always completely committed. Watching her as I have over the years, I see not only chops, but a healthy sense of humor as well. I feel like she “gets it,” if that makes any sense. (And after this interview, I’m even more of a fan.) Courtesy of friend Fred Olen Ray, Danning joins all the vampire fun on The Lair in this third season.
Sean Abley: We’ve actually met very briefly—I moderated the Lair panel for the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in La months ago. I was incredibly intimidated by meeting you. You’re Sybil Danning! But you turned out to be very sweet, and even asked me if it went Ok afterwards. You’ve now worked with my friend Dylan Vox twice,...

New York -- Several classic horror tales are getting a gay makeover courtesy of Regent Studios, its sister cable channel Here! Networks and cult director David DeCoteau.
The helmer has inked a two-year deal with Regent to direct 10 films and two television series through his Rapid Heart Pictures shingle.
The projects, some of which will be released theatrically by Regent in the fall, include Edgar Allan Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" and adaptations of works by H.G. Wells and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. New features will also be made for "The Brotherhood" and "The Invisible Chronicles," two ongoing TV/DVD series.
All of the legendary tales in the slate will be refashioned to include gay themes, as was DeCoteau's recently released Poe adaptation "House of Usher." The only film confirmed for release this Fall is the "pansexual" film noir "Playing With Fire," starring Susan Anton and Michael Bergin.
DeCoteau has produced and/or directed more than 50 genre films over the past two decades, including "Leeches!" "Creepozoids" and "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama," after his start in the mid-'80s gay porn industry.
