The pornographer using "Louis Deville" as his default moniker has a good visual sense but idiotic approach to storytelling in "No Escape", a would-be sci-fi/fantasy porn feature from Sin City. In the lead role, Steven St. Croix (when not humping) tries to pretend the narrative makes sense with little help from the uncredited script.
Thin premise, which is still quite topical and worthy of a film if handled seriously, has St. Croix putting on a goofy headset handed him by a femme scientist (uncredited NonSex role as usual) to enjoy sexual fantasies in a virtual reality construct. So far so good, as the architectural montages, widescreen compositions and flash-cut montages sucker the viewer into expecting something interesting, but Deville fails to deliver on the usual paranoia of corrupt corporations mining and stealing our most private information.
Instead we get hot sex scenes, Sin City's main product, beginning with Shy Love as the real woman left back home by Steven. Of the fantasy women I enjoyed looking at Jenna Presley the most, in her pre-boob enhancement incarnation.
Male supporting cast is poor, with Jenner as a weirdo in the fantasy world who speaks with Echo Chamber resonance, and no-namer Richard Kline popping up to provide another cock on screen. Ending is particularly poor, as Deville belongs to that camp of moronic pornographers who economically wrap up a project once the necessary sex is in the can, caring little for the story or characters -following industry's conventional wisdom that all the consumer of porn wants is raw sex, a demonstrably dumb assumption (see for example any all-time hits from Devil in Miss Jones to Pirates & its sequel disproving this).
