"Nosce Inimicum" (Know the enemy) is a taut episode revolving around the diabolical Dawkins. From Kristolphe Scharfe, recovering in the hospital, Em is able to deliver a message to Dawkins to meet her at the Hatfield Food Court at 3pm. To SA Derek Crowne, Em asks for only one favor, "I need three hours!!!"
Em has begun to bond with young Kai. Unfortunately, Kai will be involved in a failed attempt to swap the files she stole from Dawkins in return for the life of Nick Durand. Em tries to comfort young Flynn Warren Durand by assuring him that she is relentlessly searching for his lost father. SA Gunnarson continues to be antagonistic toward Em.
In the showdown at the Hatfield Food Court, Em is able to win the trust of Dawkins, showing him one of the stolen files with the help of Kai. Em learns that Nick is being held not in Boston, but in Europe! Locked in a high-security room in an asylum, Nick makes a daring escape, but is so weak that he is recaptured.
In the closing moments, Dawkins makes an escape from the mall before Cal can track him down. Young Kai takes a tumble from the second story of the mall when she is attacked by one of Dawkins' goons. Em is able to retries the laptop. But it is unclear if Kai has survived her fall.
