We heard from the fine folks behind the WWII vampire project The Bleeding (not to be confused with Charlie Picerni’s direct-to-video action horror film that starred Michael Matthias, Vinnie Jones, Dmx, and Michael Madsen) a little while ago with an update and some fresh promo art for you. Get the skinny and the eye candy below!
German director Josef Rusnak (The Thirteenth Floor, It's Alive, The Contractor) is now attached to direct. Jeremy Wall (Jaz Films) optioned the script and is producing along with Corina Danckwerts. They produced the supernatural thriller The Objective, written and directed by Daniel Myrick (The Blair Witch Project). The Bleeding is based on a short story by Bram Stoker Award-nominated William R. Trotter entitled "The Bleeding of Hauptmann Gehlen". The script was penned by John and Paul Buckholts, who are also executive producing.

A pretty interesting cast of characters have come together to develop a World War II vampire movie, The Bleeding, which will be directed by Josef Rusnak (The Thirteenth Floor, It's Alive). Jeremy Wall (Jaz Films) optioned the script and is producing along with Corina Danckwerts - who both produced the supernatural thriller The Objective, written and directed by Daniel Myrick (The Blair Witch Project). The Bleeding is based on a short story by Bram Stoker Award-nominated William R. Trotter entitled "The Bleeding of Hauptmann Gehlen". John and Paul Buckholts wrote the feature script and will serve as Exec. Producers. "An American spy on assignment in Romania stumbles upon a dark secret that the inhabitants of the region have hidden for centuries. The lesser of two evils is questioned when he infiltrates a small unit of German SS soldiers who encounter a mysterious enemy while fighting partisans in The Carpathian Mountains.

Josef Rusnak is attached to direct The Bleeding , a film that holds no relation to The Bleeding released earlier this year on DVD. This film, set against the backdrop of World War II, tells of an American spy on assignment in Romania who stumbles upon a dark secret that the inhabitants of the region have hidden for centuries. The lesser of two evils is questioned when he infiltrates a small unit of German SS soldiers who encounter a mysterious enemy while fighting partisans in The Carpathian Mountains...vampires. Rusnak previously helmed The Thirteenth Floor and the It's Alive remake. He's currently in post-production on Beyond , starring Jon Voight and Teri Polo. Beyond follows a detective who teams with a tabloid psychic to track down a missing child. The...

Anchor Bay has bolstered its future by pairing up with Crystal Sky Group. The two will produce and acquire up to 15 films a year, says THR. Budgets will range between $2 million and $30. One of the first pictures out of the gate is Josef Rusnak's Beyond , a supernatural thriller starring Jon Voight. Rusnak directed The Thirteenth Floor as well as the It's Alive remake. Plot details are zilch at this time. Shooting will take place in Alaska.

When a Lenore (Bijou Phillips) learns that she is pregnant, she leaves graduate school to set up a home with her boyfriend in the country. The fate of the happy new family takes a gruesome turn when animals and people end up brutally dead – all with a strange connection to their newborn. Could their new child be the monster responsible for the gruesome murders? When a studio wants to remake a horror film from 1974 and they go direct to DVD with it, there's something potentially dangerous going on. Yet, this gruesome equation may or may not be the case with the First Look Studios film It's Alive, which hits DVD shelves on October 6th. Based on the gnarly clip that we've received exclusively (as seen below), I might be inclined to say that this film could exceed expectations. I will let you decide for yourselves based on the clip below. Check it out...

With the It's Alive remake hitting home video on Tuesday, October 6th courtesy of First Look features, all sorts of goodness landed in our mailboxes today to share with you ... our dear and sexy, sexy, readers.
The remake follows a couple as they prepare for the birth of their new child. Unfortunately, the kid turns out to be a murderous creature that kills when scared - but this being a reimagining, the comparison pretty much ends there. While the original had the child, split from his parents, wreaking bloody havoc, here we have Bijou Philips (Venom, Hostel: Part II) as Lenore, forced into the role of the terrified mother facing mental ruin as she attempts to hide the beastly nature of her new bundle of joy.

It's Alive , a remake of the Larry Cohen film of the same name, is crawling its way onto DVD from First Look Studios on October 6. Bijou Phillips is the poor mother strapped with a newborn who winds up being a vicious little monster. Josef Rusnak directed this update and we've got an exclusive clip to share that reveals what happens when a cop shows up to investigate a dark kitchen. First Look's DVD includes trailers and cast and crew interviews. Speaking of trailers, we've got a red band preview for It's Alive right here .

If The Unborn and Birth didn’t fulfill your creepy dead baby quota for the year, how about a remake of It's Alive featuring Bijou Phillips and a carnivorous infant? Bloody Disgusting has the first trailer for the film, and it’s all the baby-killing action you could ever want in a movie. By that I mean, the baby kills people, not…you know what I mean. I know that the original It’S Alive came before all these other evil children/baby films, but watching...

It's Alive is a gore splattered cautionary tale of the terrifying consequences of experimental drug testing. Bijou Phillips (Choke, Hostel Pt II, Bully) stars as Lenore Harker, a normal High School senior who seems to have it all: a boyfriend who loves her, great grades and a new baby on the way. Above all, she is certain of one thing, the baby she and Frank (James Murray, Primeval, Being John Malkovich) are expecting is going to be special. The fate of the happy new couple takes a sinister turn as the doctors and nurses delivering their baby are all brutally murdered, leaving just Lenore and her baby miraculously safe. As the police frantically try to unravel the mystery, strange and frightening events begin to occur back at the house. Cocooned in blissful motherhood Lenore is unable to...

Some time ago, while perusing the special features on my DVD re-issue of Mario Bava's Black Sabbath (contained in Anchor Bay's magnificent Bava Box Set Vol. 1) I was pleasantly surprised by the addition of an interview with an actor by the name of Mark Damon. See, I was a rather huge fan of , not only the Bava masterpiece (Damon starred as the young hero in the chilling Boris Karloff episode in Black Sabbath called The Wurdulak) but also of the legendary and groundbreaking 1960 Roger Corman / Poe/ Vincent Price creeper House Of Usher and perhaps even more relevantly, the 1973 soft core Eurotrash shocker The Devils Wedding Night.
When I was 11, I caught The Devils Wedding Night on late night pre-teen masturbation staple Elvira's syndicated Movie Macabre TV show and was really shaken by it. Director Luigi Batzella's kinky vampire yarn cast a very shaggy and pork chop side...

An extended trailer for the upcoming killer baby remake It's Alive! has found its way on to the net, and honestly it doesn't look half bad.
Clocking in at four minutes long the trailer, which Bloody Disgusting dug up right after it was pulled from YouTube, shows quite a bit, but one thing bothers me ... unless it goes through some sort of Kafka inspired metamorphosis the baby looks pretty normal. While I'm partial to the little clawed devil of days gone by, this one still looks to be worth a shot if only for Bijou Phillips and the body count.
