A "Torchwood" episode with real meat to it, 8 February 2008
Author: DVD_Connoisseur from England

"Meat" is a surprisingly effective and moving example of British sci-fi drama. There's something genuinely comic yet chilling when an other-worldly tale is set in the rather grim, un-exotic setting of Merthyr Tydfil.

The Torchwood team investigate strange goings on following a road traffic accident involving a vehicle full of raw meat. What is of interest is that the meat isn't from this planet...

A well paced and interesting episode, the finale is especially effective and one of "Torchwood"'s most memorable to date. The special effects are ambitious but pleasing and the script and direction manage to create real emotion in the viewer. In less capable hands, this could have been a clunker.
