I was quite delighted to see that Vanessa Rojas would finally be in the spotlight, since I hadn't seen much of her since she got accepted into Intelligence. I loved how this episode gave the viewers an insight of how it is to live with schizophrenia, since it is not spoken about enough in the media.
In previous episodes, when one of the main characters forms a relationship with someone involved in the case, they are killed off. I was almost certain that would happen with Sammy too, especially after she shot him, so him surviving was a pleasant surprise. Not a total happy ending, but it was something.
I loved seeing Vanessa talk about her past more and it was so impressive watching her gain Sammy's trust. She might have been too close to Sammy to objectively handle the case, but still, kudos to her for knowing how to talk to someone with schizophrenia.
However, I was disappointed about the amount of screen-time Kim Burgess got, after the last episode had such a tragic end. We only saw her talking to Adam in the beginning and talking to Voight at the end. While it made sense that she pushed Adam away, it was still disappointing, since they were starting to get more close after Kim announced her pregnancy.
Overall, great episode, loved the balance of action and drama!
