The world of Doctor Who has changed greatly in the space of just 10 years. The cast and crew have almost completely been replaced since 2005, including a number of new actors to play the errant Time Lord and his companions.
But what has happened to the class of '05? Where are Rose and Mickey now? What is the writer of 'Dalek' up to? And where can you see more work from the director of 'Rose'?
Here it is then, your guide to the main players of Doctor Who series one.
The Cast
After his three-month on-screen stint as the Doctor, Christopher Eccleston's career continued in much the same vein, taking in theatre, interesting television roles and the odd blockbuster.
Post-2005, the Northern actor went Stateside to take on the role of invisible man Claude in the Us series Heroes. From there, he popped up in a very amusing Doctor Who-esque cameo as Dr.

We’ve got just over a week to wait for Danny Boyle’s Trance, and all that we’ve seen so far has our interest piqued for the psychological crime-thriller.
James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel, and Rosario Dawson take the lead here, making up an impressive leading trio. And after catching the first TV spot, MSN have debuted a new featurette, taking us behind the scenes of Boyle’s return behind the camera.
A fine art auctioneer mixed up with a gang joins forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. As boundaries between desire, reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur the stakes rise faster than anyone could have anticipated.
Starring alongside McAvoy, Cassel, and Dawson will be Tuppence Middleton, Danny Sapani, Lee Nicholas Harris, and Wahab Sheikh.
Boyle is directing from a script co-written by Joe Ahearne (Apparitions) and John Hodge (Trainspotting), partly inspired by Ahearne’s 2001 TV movie of the same name.

Danny Boyle’s Trance is pretty much guaranteed to be awesome, and earns its place and then some amongst our must-see movies of the month.
The psychological crime-thriller stars James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel, and Rosario Dawson as the leading trio, and that’s definitely a cast we’re looking forward to seeing.
The latest red-band trailer debuted last month, giving us a brilliant new look at the film. And now Fox have released the first slightly more work-friendly TV spot ahead of its release in the Us in a few weeks’ time.

It may only be in the early stages of development, and Disney may currently be referring to it as The Beast. But we’re calling it right now: any new take on the classic fairy tale (brought to the screen in Oscar-winning animated form in 1991) must surely be called Re-Beauty And The Beast. Because reboot…. Re-beauty? Oh, please yerselves. The Mouse House certainly is, raiding its back catalogue once more for another title it can turn into a live-action story in the hopes of making a mint a la Alice In Wonderland and, if its early figures are any guide, Oz The Great And Powerful, as well as other upcoming fairytales like Maleficent.Joe Ahearne, a veteran of writing or directing This Life, Doctor Who, Apparitions and, one of this writer’s favourite vampire tweaks, Ultraviolet, has been tasked with finding a new way into the Beauty story with,...

Danny Boyle’s Trance has fast become one of our most anticipated films of the spring, with a brilliant leading cast in James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent Cassel.
The first trailer landed earlier in the year, only serving to fuel our anticipation. And now Yahoo Movies have released a new red-band trailer. And as you can imagine, this one’s not suitable viewing for work.

Danny Boyle’s Trance is fast becoming one of the spring’s most anticipated movies. The psychological crime-thriller marks the director’s eagerly-awaited return behind the camera for his first film since 127 Hours, and following his work directing the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Olympics last year.
The first trailer for the film landed earlier in the month. And since then, we’ve seen three teaser posters, with one for each of the leading trio in James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and most recently Vincent Cassel.
Now the first quad poster for the film has arrived, giving us another great look at the film. (Albeit with Cassel’s pose on the poster somewhat reminiscent of that of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Rian Johnson’s Looper.)

Danny Boyle’s return to the big screen this spring with Trance has been building momentum and anticipation nicely in recent weeks.
We saw an excellent first trailer earlier in the month. And that’s since been followed with the first two teaser posters in a new set, with some great new taglines, adding to the intrigue surrounding the film.
Those first teasers gave us a look at James McAvoy and Rosario Dawson, and now Orange have (somewhat colour-appropriately) debuted the third in the set, with Vincent Cassel buried beneath the circles.

Danny Boyle makes his eagerly-anticipated return to the big screen this spring with Trance, following the time off he took to direct the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Olympics last year.
The New Year brought with it a rather brilliant first trailer, giving us a great first full look at the film.
And following it up was the first teaser poster, which launched a new set earlier in the week. Now Yahoo Movies have given us the second in the set, which sees the face of Rosario Dawson buried beneath the circles.

Danny Boyle’s Trance is fast becoming one of the most anticipated films of the spring. Coming off the back of directing the Opening Ceremony of last summer’s Olympics, we can’t wait to see what Boyle brings to the table on his return to the big screen.

Danny Boyle’s Trance is a film we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. The writer-director boarded the project back in May last year, following on from the Oscar-nominated 127 Hours.
Since then, Boyle has been involved with a staged production of Frankenstein, as well as directing the Opening Ceremony to this summer’s Olympics.
But with both now firmly behind him, we have Trance back in centre position. The release date has recently been set for March 2013 here in the UK, and now USA Today have given us the first images from the film.

A BBC adaptation of James Herbert's best-selling ghost story, The Secret of Crickley Hall, a haunted house chiller, full of scares but underpinned by the moving tales of children and parents separated 70 years apart, is underway.
The three episode drama is to be directed by Joe Ahearne (Apparitions, Doctor Who, This Life) who has also written the script, for BBC Drama Production North, and is set for broadcast around Halloween 2012.
The story is about a family who relocate to a rain-swept house in a Devonshire town called Devil’s Cleave – It turns out that during World War II, the village was decimated by a flood. Crickley Hall was home to a group of poor orphans evacuated from London who lived under the care of the sadistic Augustus Cribben, who terrorised, starved and beat them. The orphans were seemingly washed away by the flood and now their lost spirits haunt the hall,...

Exclusive: Hot off co-writing Trance for director Danny Boyle, Joe Ahearne has sold an untitled supernatural thriller pitch to Warner Bros. Dan Lin will produce under his Lin Pictures banner. Lin’s veep Jon Silk came up with an idea they are keeping under wraps and Ahearne expanded it before they pitched it to the studio and came away with a deal. Silk will be co-producer and WB’s Matt Cherniss is overseeing it. It’s the British writer’s second deal with Warner Bros, which recently hired him to rewrite Elf Quest for Rawson Thurber to direct. Thurber wrote the original draft. Ahearne will write Elf Quest and start the new pitch at the same time. Trance, which stars James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson, is currently in production in London. Boyle will complete the shoot, then put it down to focus on directing the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

With the announcement only a few days, director Danny Boyle has already found a star for his next project. He is currently in talks with Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, Jane Eyre) to join his art heist thriller Trance. [THR, Variety]
The modestly budgeted film (think Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours) is actually a remake of Joe Ahearne‘s 2001 British thriller of the same name. Ahearne has worked on Doctor Who and This Life, as well as creator of Ultraviolet and Apparitions. Described in the “dark, sexy, hard-edged tone of Boyle films like Shallow Grave and Trainspotting,” check out a synopsis below. Fassbender would be playing “the shady leader of the gang who partners with the assistant.”

It is a very light week for horror DVDs with a few re-releases on Blu-ray of newer classics, starting with the "New Flesh" that is Videodrome as well as Guillermo del Toro's Cronos.

Videodrome (Criterion Collection) (1983)
Directed by David Cronenberg
Starring James Woods, Deborah Harry, Sonja Smits, Peter Dvorsky, Leslie Carlson
When Max Renn goes looking for edgy new shows for his sleazy cable TV station, he stumbles across the pirate broadcast of a hyperviolent torture show called Videodrome. As he unearths the origins of the program, he embarks on a hallucinatory journey into a shadow world of right-wing conspiracies, sadomasochistic sex games, and bodily transformation. The Stage is reporting that the BBC has asked Doctor Who director Joe Ahearne to create Superpower, a fresh take on heroes. Ahearne has previously written episodes of This Life, Ultraviolet and the forthcoming Apparitions.
The Beeb has commissioned stand-alone scripts and turned production chores over to Impossible Pictures, the people behind Primeval.
Ahearne told the paper he is a major fan of Marvel’s line of super-heroes which will no doubt be a heavy influence on the series. Having said that, he stressed the new show will be set apart from NBC’s Heroes or the BBC’s spoof No Heroics.
“It is a new and original super-hero idea which is not a send-up. All the super-hero stuff that is on TV in this country - ITV’s No Heroics, My Hero - British TV is happy to do if it is a send-up, but no one has done it for real.
