  • Fans will be able to keep checking back to www.wallaceandgromit.com to follow the progress of the production via a video blog filmed by the crew. The blog will reveal many of the day to day production techniques at the Aardman studio.

  • Early in the film when Wallace is attempting to save Piella, they enter a zoo with a number of posters near the front entrance. One of the posters on the right side is of a 'lost penguin' similar to the one of Feathers McGraw seen in Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers (1993). In the same scene, a ladder can be seen propped up against the inside of the wall to the left of the gate; dangling from it (outside the wall of course) is a rope made from sheets knotted together.

  • The Single vinyl cover seen in the front of the cardboard box given to Gromit by Fluffles is based on the actual singer Donny Osmond and his hit single "Puppy Love", and written by Paul Anka in 1960. Donny Osmond made it a personal best, in the U.K., as it reached Number One for five weeks in the summer of '72 and has been his "trademark" hit ever since. The words "...and they called it Puppy Love..." can also be heard sung at the end of the film.

  • When Gromit wants to enter the house of Piella, he walks by a tree which says: F heart G, which stands for Fluffles loves Gromit.

  • The baker who was killed in the opening scene was based on Bob Baker, one of the writers of the film.

  • The box of stuff that Fluffles moves into Wallace and Gromit's house includes, along with a lot of doggy culture, a small Bagpuss.

  • Fluffles in the film sleeps in dog bed made from a 'Meatabix' dog food box. That was the same kind of box used by Grommit to hide from Feathers McGraw in Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers (1993).

  • In this film Grommit reads a book called "Electronic surveillance for Dogs". in Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers (1993) he gained information from a book called "Electronics for Dogs".

  • The cardboard box that Fluffles sleeps in has "Meatabix" written on it. This is the same as the name written on the box that Gromit is watching Feathers McGraw from in Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers (1993).

  • At the end of the film when Piella is going down into the crocodile exhibit, Feathers McGraw (the penguin from Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers (1993)) can be seen in another exhibit.

  • The scene where Wallace and Gromit try to dispose of the bomb, but can't because there are ducks in a pond out of one window and nuns through another is a reference to the scene in "Batman" (1966), where Batman, played by Adam West, has similar problems whilst trying to dispose of a bomb.

  • Albums in the filing cabinet at the end of the film include "The Hound of Music" and one by a group called "The Beagles" written in a font similar to that used for The Beatles "A Hard Days Night" or "Help", and two by "McFlea".

  • DVDs or videos in Gromit's room include "Bite Club", "The Bone Identity", "Pup Fiction", "Where Beagles Dare" and the "The Dogfather".

  • Homage: Towards the end of the film, Fluffles uses the yellow fork-lift truck to restrain an attacking Piella. This pays homage to the scene in Aliens (1986) where Ripley uses the yellow cargo loader robot to restrain an attacking Alien.

  • In an incredibly subtle pun, the diamond in the engagement ring is a baguette cut.
