Best Heartbreaking Drama

I just watched this goodbye my princess drama (2019) in 2024. This is very late.

Because I mostly watched happy ending romance drama and crime thriller drama series.

The story, plots, acting are excellent.

I still can't move on from this drama.

Both main lead actor and actress are good in acting.

I prefer actor's acting skills. He can show detail acting with eyes , control facial expressions, changing his acting within seconds when plot of drama was needed.

This is really really heartbreaking, heart wrenching, heartfelt.

Although actor character is red flag, he has own reason to do those cruel things.

I feel sorry for both actor and actress characters.

Best Chinese serial ever!!!!!

Except for first episode, every episode is very fast paced. I usually skip most scenes in Chinese drama but I didn't skip any scenes in this one. Main female lead looks like angel and perfectly captures Innocence and childish behavior. Her role matures over the years. Make lead is just awesome. He makes you relate to himself more than anyone. You understand his ambitions insecurities, his need to be loved, his jealousy everything. Second lead is good too. Actually there may not be a single character you hate in this series. Every character from grandmother to the maid of princess is a well developed character. I am in love with this serial.

As the fan of Chinese Historic drama, I was totally obsessed with this drama and no matter how many times I have re-watched it, still cried, still laugh over and over again.

The actors did phenomenon work with their role> Peng Xiao Ran, playing XiaoFeng ,would naturally bring out not only the wild, lovely, and innocent image of desert princess, but also the whole process of her becoming matured, elegant and wise lady..Even though LiChengYin in love with XiaoFeng and fiercely trying to protect her, he still highly driven by taking revenge and gaining the power..

Costumes, cinematography and music of the drama also wonderfully done.

Just another silly series

I don't typically write reviews but this series was just hard to digest. Especially the 2nd male lead which was just simply the worst desperate stalker ever. Not only that but he can fight against many (invincible even), not die after falling off a cliff, cure illness, enter the palace anytime and stand on trees all night. Give me a break, thats just bad scripting.

As the title of the series suggests the princess died in the end in also the silliest way, by making a speech to prevent a war and then killing herself. *slaps forehead*

Seems that every one in the palace can also be easily killed by food poisoning, the irony. With all the plotting that the story tries to sell, the characters just never thought to have food testers.

However there are great moments too in this series, female and male lead did convincingly well to drive the narrative of amnesia and destined love, but its just not worth the exchange of time and such ending.

I don't understand how this is on the best drama list

I dislike Goodbye, My Princess for an array of reasons

1. The 9th Princess is an idiot who gets more idiotic as the plot unravels 2. The actress looks and acts like Dilraba who happens to be my least favorite actress 3. It takes a while for the plot to gain momentum 4. Did I mention the Princess was an idiot?

5. It features a love triangle that was both forced and unnecessary

Now, on to the pros.

1. Top notch set design 2. Beautiful scenery

To conclude, if you like dramas where motivations are lacking and the characters act solely for their self interest regardless of who gets destroyed, then by all means, dive right in. Otherwise, there are several C-dramas such as Ever Night and Joy of Life that are worthy of your time.
