Good opening episode

A nice start to the series. We've seen similar stories before but this time we have the great Eric Sykes playing the groom to be.

As always it's nice to see the wider cast interacting with each other and always enjoyable waiting to see how Pearl will end up catch Howard with Marina.

Nellie seems well established now as does Mrs Davenport. Still waiting for Entwhistle to get some character growth. He often seems like such a spare part and again there is no mention of Billy's whereabouts, not that the plot really misssed him.

Enjoy the presence of one of comedy's greats.

Doggy is set to get married again, almost eighty years old, it's his stag night, and all the guys are invited.

A new series, and the same old jokes, and a scenario that we have seen before, for the most part, this episode does feel a little bit tired, and a little bit dull, it does get funnier, thanks to some fun from Sykes, and of course Marina.

Eric Sykes, 84 here, and still sprightly, and still has the art of timing, still funny, even if he is battling a somewhat narrow character.

Not a classic, but you'd have to be made of stone if you didn't at least chuckle. 6/10.

The Second Stag Night of Doggy Wilkinson

This is the last comedy appearance for Eric Sykes on the BBC.

Sykes plays Doggy Wilkinson who is nearly 80 years old and is getting married again.

Doggy takes his remaining friends out for a stag do and it becomes clear that he even has trouble remembering much including just who is about to get married to.

Truly arranges Marina to be a kissogram girl. However Doggy manages to get drunk and injures his ankle.

Truly needs to find a means of transport to take Doggy home. Tom and Smiler might provide the answer.

The only thing I learnt from this episode. Never go on a stag do with Roy Clarke.

Once again he has a character who gets too drunk and injures his leg. This was definitely a cut and paste job.
