Preachy and Patronising

A war time propaganda film which was presumably shown to the women army officer.It seems as if their purpose in life is to cook breakfast when there is no gas.Not one of the better efforts.

Love it for all the wrong reasons

I say, those ATS officers look familiar! Yes, they are Ann Todd, Celia Johnson, Peggy Ashcroft, Esma Cannon, Joyce Carey et al. This is a motivational training film addressed to the officer class (everyone is ever so well-spoken), spotlighting problems that might arise when dealing with ex-delinquents with alcoholic parents, girls who just /won't/ cut their hair to regulation length, girls who are rude to orderlies etc. Did the drivers and orderlies get their own brand of uplift? Many, many platitudes are spouted that I remember from school "discipline, dedication" and the rest. Still, it's a treat to see these girls act.
