Undertones and tensions galore.

Tensions rise between two of the sisters, forcing one to leave.

I am thoroughly into this series, it has been a deliciously dark and sinister, it's so very different from the film adaptation, but the essence is. Wry much there.

It's the the tension between Sister Clodagh and Sister Ruth that makes this so good, talk about tension, more sexual tension I this than any drama I have den for a while.

It continues to look breathtaking, it may frustrate those wanting something which is fast paced, this is deliberately slow, but captivating. 8/10.

Episode 2

The nuns are struggling to maintain the Palace without Mr Dean's assistance.

Sister Clodagh wants to plough on without the boorish Mr Dean or it might just be that there is a sexual tension between them.

At the market Sister Ruth gets up close with Mr Dean when he is spotted. She also seems even more tetchier than usual. Sister Ruth takes it out on Kanchi when she damages a statue which was not her fault.

Another nun is getting affected by the altitude as well. She sees flowers and begin to lose her purpose.

At least the episode has the developing relationship between Kanchi and the General's son who has come to the school to learn.

Then there is the increasing frostiness between Clodagh and Ruth at a Christmas event when Mr Dean shows up drunk.

I do think that Black Narcissus might have worked better as a two hour television movie. The episode seemed stretched but at least it sets things up for the finale.
