• Revealing mistakes: In the scene were Kate and Taylor are kissing there is spirit gum visible on Kate's left eyebrow. This is because although the brown hair and eyebrows Kate has in this scene are supposed to be her own they are not. Sofia Vassilieva had her head shaved for the part.
  
  
• Continuity: In the scene where Kate is getting chemo and she's talking to Taylor her hair switches from behind her ear to in front and back depending on the camera angle.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: Toward the beginning of the movie where the family is outside jumping on the trampoline and blowing bubbles Anna (Abigail Breslin) is seen blowing bubbles, but if you look at the bubble stick nothing is coming out.
  
  

• Continuity: When Mrs. Fitzgerald (Cameron Diaz) shaves her head, the next scene she is seen with her hair grown back and normal.
  
  
• Factual errors: Just after the court case the lawyer drives to the family's home, yet he had just had an epileptic fit and was known to have regular fits - hence the dog. In California, and most of USA, your epilepsy must be controlled for at least 3 months before you are allowed to drive.
  
  
• Errors in geography: At about 45 minutes the climatologist lady says there is green lad 90 miles from the pole. 90 miles from the pole there is no land.
  
  

• Factual errors: SPOILER: Early in the movie it is revealed that Kate is a Leo - meaning she was born in July or August. After Kate dies and Anna says "Each year on Kate's birthday we take a family trip to her favorite place [Montana]" - they show the family presumably in Montana bundled up in warm jackets and scarves, but summer weather in Montana tends to be in the 70s-90s. Snow is rare in Montana's summertime.
  
  
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): SPOILER: Doctors don't usually break major bad news to a family in the waiting room.
