I was a big fan for a while
katieknapek5 June 2020
Why does this episode feel like all the characters just want to be annoying? I loved this show during the first two seasons and three was ok but now what is this?

Pointless and boring
drbodarobert5 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Two dead characters returning to haunt Clay and Jessica is both boring and repetitive. Clay hasn't developed since season 2. His PTSD is understandable but boring and executed in a way we have seen in dozens of other shows. Ani and Alex are still terrible characters. Tyler is getting more and more irritating and repetitive. The acting is still not good enough. Overall, I still don't know why this series wasn't cancelled after season 1.

Pointless and Unnecessary
thepicklebar8 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's no secret this show hasn't been good for a while. They're just milking it at this point. They made Winston a main character just to keep the story going. It's like the writers are flying by the seat of their pants and making everything up as they go along. They clearly don't have a plan.

It doesn't make sense anymore why Clay still takes care of everyone. Tyler gets "called" to the police station to talk about the bag of guns, which is a felony. The police would've just showed up at his door and brought him in. He wouldn't have had time to call Clay to drive him. Also, why the hell would he call Clay instead of a lawyer? Going off the last season, it's utterly ridiculous how these high school kids can just fool the cops over and over again and get away with multiple crimes. Lastly, the camera work and Clay's flashbacks are overdramatic.

Not as bad after you've seen the entire 4th season
Havan_IronOak19 December 2020
Can't help but notice the number of negative reviews that the 4th season got. The story-line is still amazing and the characters are still as interesting as ever (if not more so) however the writers jumped the shark back at the outset of season three. The first two seasons were about the death of Hannah Baker. We knew she'd killed herself and peeling back the layers of the story left us with some great characters (and villains) The second season improved on that formula if that was even possible. However the third season they decided to try and present new story developments and to present it as more of a mystery. Problem is, the same story telling style doesn't work with those story elements and I had to rewatch the entire third season in order to appreciate what it was showing.

The 4th season they've strayed even further. Having heard what I'd heard about some of the season 4 character developments I decided to stick with it and I suffered through the first four episodes before it even BEGAN to make sense as to what I was seeing. Now after several months I'm re-watching season 4 and there are good story elements and it can be enjoyable this time around but I wish these people would have just stuck with a story telling style that worked.

If you really loved seasons 1 and 2 and you're invested in the characters this is definitely worth the work but if you're just looking for an entertaining story well-told, this may not be your cuppa tea.

What a load of old rubbish. Used to enjoy the show but it's now boring and every character is just annoying. Also all these kids need to lay of the caffeine, go pub with there mates have a few drinks and chill the F out. Only in America I guess

Can it all still end good?
Tyanneh19 September 2020
I decided to watch till the end to see what the writers came up with but the show barely reminds what it used to be in season 1 and let's say 2. It reminds me of one of those 2000' TV shows with destructive protagonists. It feels like it can't end good anymore, like the only reasonable thing would be to kill everyone off or put them in jail at the end. Since season 3 the show has been becoming more and more bs, very unrealistic and making you lose all the respect you had for everyone before. Why is Clay even with Ani?

I'm glad Clay is back to being a narrator. I know they probably wanted to make us doubt Clay in season 3 that's why they made Ani a narrator but I really hoped she would end up being a killer and we wouldn't have to watch her in season 4.

Plus for Clay's new hair. I guess.

13 reasons why is the new Ghost Whisper.
geofreykent6 June 2020
At least we have gotten a chance to see Dr. Ellman. Clay's style and sense of fashion is totally bad boy. Just that there is too much Ghost whispering. I hope Zac is not gay.

Another pointless season. Here we go....
thefendiprint5 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This premiere was meh. Not terrible, but not very good. More rehashing of the past season's events. Not even really sure where they're trying to take the story this season other than someone is dead...yet again (how original). The only moderately interesting thing is when Alex kissed Zach - but it also makes no sense considering neither of them are gay so it really just feels completely out of character for Alex's character??? Nothing else stood out from this episode but I'll continue to watch the season just to finish it out at this point even though it's been a massive STINKER since season 2...

Imaginations
ZegMaarJus11 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Clay, he has a nightmare about events in the past. Justin tells Clay that Monty is still alive. But Monty isn't alive, he was just in Clay his dream. Clay brought Tyler to the police station. Clay sees Monty, but it is just a imagination. Tyler tells Clay that the police found his guns in the river. Justin returns back home after rehab. Winston has been transferred from Hillcrest to Liberty. Clay got beaten up at school. Alex kissed Zach on the roof. Solid Premiere Episode of 13 Reasons Why Season 4, this was just okay. But i am expecting a bit more from this Final Season!

Winter Break (#4.1)
ComedyFan20106 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I really feel that at that point I am watching the show because I saw 3 seasons and want to be done with it. This episode was boring. The characters annoy the hell out of. I think the idea that people can just get away with killing somebody regardless of what he did is unacceptable for me and I don't feel any connection to them or wish them well. I would be happy if they would end up in jail. Seems like this season will be about them trying to get away. The only good ting about the episode was coming of Monty's sister. Maybe it will end up being something interesting.

Warning!! Don't waste time!
ashikpaul-049416 June 2020
I mean we all know that there's no point of 13 reasons why from season 2 itself. It's just a popular series with no new ideas and which is making profit for Netflix. Don't watch season 4. Only the first two episodes are good. It's just goes downhill from episode 3

wierd writing

Warning: Spoilers
Ok this is the start of season 4 and it is good it was actually a good piece until when clay had a second dream where Justin Said's is it enough is enough that is where the writing went out the window when that happened tanked the episode I do like clay in this with seeing things and panic attacks different Gary Sinise is in this season which is great if he was not in this probably the worst season in my opinion because he makes the season flow a lot better Winston is a good addition this where he get's in this show with a lot of scenes what are great this is the episode where Zach and Alex are gay which destroys all character both those character had the writers I don't know what happened but they are not good in this episode or this season even the first episode I like the writing is crazy and weird so interesting episode not a great one.

Very intense!!!
eliowens5 June 2020
This was a good, if not great, opener. Really enjoyed the highs and lows. Definitely hinting at the greater to come. Seems like an improvement in writing, characterization, development, and direction. Loved the flash forward narrative style device.

Lame Start
blueoysterdvp15 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Was hoping for more than this. What a terrible start. The first 3 seasons are far superior so far. Clay's character is going to be the main focus season 4 I guess. The acting is too over the top So far for Clay. The first episode should have a "wow" factor to kick off the drama. Clay's melodrama so far.

can't like one character anymore
skyhifly15 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All the "protagonists" are evil villains, Winston sending all these self righteous criminals to jail is about all there is to cheer for... how can anyone character be liked anymore? They're all self righteous hypocrites.

It's a promising start and a very good one. Clay's troubles give the show a cool approach.

A Nightmare on Clay Street
BulmaPunkRocker12 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
6/10 because of Gary Sinise and that I can relate with PTSD, GAD and panic attacks and it's nice to see the show addressing these issues. But the "showrunners" are taking too many elements from thrillers that doesn't really help.

Bad thing is that IRL, no one cares about 2 dead rapists. And we see that not even hybristophilic "Ani" cares. I don't see people mourning Richard Huckle. I feel more sorry about Jeffrey Dahmer than Montgomery de la Cruz. I hope this season doesn't try to "humanise" him, we already had that with Bryce.
