I loved this show especially the first 5 episodes, chemistry was great, loved all the characters except the parents, just found them a bit off. I rated the show 10/10 overall as it did so much well, the leads were awesome and showed all idiots who think females can't be funny that they can be. I stand by the concept, the chemistry with the sisters and bowser and think overall it was excellent however I felt 7-10 failed the show, I know overall I should lower but thought the concept and start was exceptional where the rest were just ok, so although I have love I have a bit of hate too for the following reasons
1) the race twist was semi interesting but it's getting so damn boring that this is leaking into every show, I'm pro all lives so mean no disrespect whilst it's vital the world changes forcing it into every show from this to umbrella academy just seems a ploy to get support by pandering.
2) exactly the same for the lesbian stuff, was so forced, I felt the show regressed from badass girls who're funny with a twist to every 2020 show. There was minimal chemistry there, felt so artificial and pandering yet again I lost so much respect. Again important topic, doesn't need to be in every show. The religion was enough of an angle but to push racism and sexuality just felt really weak.
3) ending hardly makes another season vital, more speed bump than cliffhanger, April's dad, the bounty hunter revelation and two dead relationships didn't make me really want a series two, even though I liked it, mum or bowser shot maybe or the dad turning up to challenge them, just felt wrapped up enough that second season isn't a huge deal. Them not being twins doesn't work as they had the twin power, just seemed a bit of a pointless twist, now they'll lose connection based on a lie?
4) felt the laugh out loud humour went from constant to barely any after episode 6
5) don't do the immature angle so much as much as you push issues why can't honesty be important, ie with miles. Also learn continuity and don't make huge changes in characters so forced, either dumbing them down or forced love interests
If this was 6 episodes it was sooo good but the forced 2020 narratives for me ruined what could've been a top draw show
