- Charley Dixon: You know, little girl - you freak me the hell out. I mean, on the outside, you're just as pretty as a picture. But on the inside... you're a...
- Cameron Phillips: Hyper-alloy combat chassis.
- Charley Dixon: Right, what, is that, is that a complicated way of saying 'robot'?
- Cameron Phillips: Cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton.
- Charley Dixon: Okay, scary robot. And here you are, carving up this guy... i-into chum.
- Cameron Phillips: He's not a guy. He's a scary robot.
- Charley Dixon: Okay. He's a scary robot? You - you're a *very* scary robot.
- Sarah Connor: What did you say to Charley?
- Cameron Phillips: I freak him the hell out.
- Sarah Connor: I'll bet you do. I'll just bet.
- [first lines]
- Sarah Connor: [narrates] On the night we first met, John's father, Kyle Reese, told me words I remember to this day. He meant them as a warning. I think of them as words to live by. He told me of an apocalypse yet to come. Like a Pandora's box, he unpacked every horror, every evil, every dark thing that haunts our future. He also left me an unborn son, to whom he bequeathed what remained in the box after the nightmares fled: hope.
- Derek Reese: Hey, Wisher, did you hear? Brother Kyle was in Century work camp.
- Wisher: No, really?
- Kyle Reese: Go to hell.
- Wisher: Did he escape? Was he a hero?
- Derek Reese: I heard he led John Connor through a slaughterhouse without taking a pinprick.
- Wisher: Oh, no, no, no, I heard it was *two* slaughterhouses and that he *carried* Connor.
- Kyle Reese: It was *one* slaughterhouse. *Many* Connors.
- Wisher: Right, right.
- Kyle Reese: What?
- Derek Reese: I hate that thing.
- Kyle Reese: It's just a picture.
- Derek Reese: It's Connor's mother. I don't get why he'd give you that.
- Kyle Reese: She's my good luck charm.
- Derek Reese: That's what makes me nervous.
- Charley Dixon: Eight years. That's how long I've been in L.A. Eight years since my fiance ran out on me. Eight years since the FBI informed me that she was a homicidal paranoid schizophrenic with an acute dislike for anything mechanical. For what it's worth, I didn't believe them... Then you blew yourself up.
- Sarah Connor: I know what you're thinking. I may not know how you think; but I know what you're thinking about. And what you're thinking about right now is exactly what you should not think about.
- John Connor: Do you know who that is in there? Who's dying on that table?
- Cameron Phillips: Yes. That man is First Lieutenant Derek Thomas Reese, with the 132nd SFC. Operation specialty: TechCom.
- John Connor: And what information do you have about Kyle Reese?
- Cameron Phillips: Imprisoned at Century Sector work camp with John Connor, 2015. Escaped with John Connor, 2021. He was officially declared MIA in 2027 after being assigned to protect Sarah Connor from a Skynet attack.
- John Connor: Is that all?
- Cameron Phillips: Seems like a lot.
- John Connor: It is.
- Sarah Connor: I didn't want to leave you. I didn't have a choice.
- Charley Dixon: Gun to your head?
- Sarah Connor: More like *in* my head. It's, um... It's complicated.
- Charley Dixon: Then uncomplicate it for me.
- Charley Dixon: So - Skynet, robots from the future. And... you're a...
- Cameron Phillips: Yes, I'm a...
- Sarah Connor: You need a...
- Charley Dixon: ...a minute?
- Sarah Connor: I was gonna say 'a drink'.
- Charley Dixon: Oh, yeah, that too.
- [John is donating his blood to Derek]
- Charley Dixon: That's quite a kid you got in there.
- Sarah Connor: You have no idea.
- Charley Dixon: Same rare blood type. And his name, Reese - same as yours when we met. You know, that's, uh...
- Sarah Connor: He's not John's father. Not sure I'm ready to explain it.
- Charley Dixon: Let me guess, it's complicated. Hey - you coulda told me.
- Sarah Connor: Would you've believed me?
- John Connor: [about Derek and Kyle] Did they look alike?
- Sarah Connor: A little bit, yeah. Same build, same complexion. Not the eyes, though. Even when your father was screaming about the machines... he had such kind eyes.
- Charley Dixon: It's dead, right? Or powered off... whatever?
- Cameron Phillips: Every component must be destroyed beyond repair or recovery. Even a single unaccounted for piece of the endoskeleton could alter the course of technological evolution... and hasten the arrival of Judgment Day.
- Derek Reese: Tell me about the other Reese.
- Perry: Told you, it's classified.
- Derek Reese: We're family.
- Perry: We're all family.
- Sarah Connor: [about Charley] You don't go near him. You don't touch him. You swear to me you'll leave him alone, or so help me, I will find a way of taking you apart piece by piece.
- Cameron Phillips: I swear.
- Sarah Connor: So do I.
- Charley Dixon: What... was that thing that you always said? 'There is no fate but what we make.' Remember?
- Sarah Connor: The more I think about it, the more I realize... my fate was made before we met. When John was born.
- Charley Dixon: Can't change it?
- Sarah Connor: I'm not trying to change mine. Trying to change his.
- [Charley shows Sarah a card of "FBI-Agent" Kester]
- Charley Dixon: I didn't, um, I didn't tell him anything. But if you ask me, it's just a matter of time.
- Sarah Connor: Always is.
- Timms: So this thing. It works?
- Derek Reese: [referring to John Connor] He said it does. I don't know how he knows but he said so.
- Sayles: We go back...
- Derek Reese: Twenty years.
- Sayles: Set up a safehouse, gather intel and then what? Hang in there, baby, till someone else shows up and gives us more orders?
- [waits for a beat]
- Sayles: He didn't say anything about Kyle? All that and not a word about him?
- Derek Reese: We can save Kyle. We can save everybody. We can fix all the mistakes.
- Timms: How we gonna do that? Reese, how we gonna do that?
- [Derek spots Billy Wisher/Andy Goode who waves and Derek gives a meaningful nod in return]
- Derek Reese: [wakes up delirious and half lucid from painkillers, starts to freak out] Kyle!
- John Connor: [calling out for help] Charley! Mom!
- Derek Reese: Where's Kyle? Where is he? Where's Kyle? Where's Kyle? Where is he?
- [struggling on the table and grabs the front of John's shirt, shaking him violently]
- John Connor: Shhh, shh.
- Derek Reese: Where is he? Where'd you send him!
- [struggles against Sarah and Charley's attempts to hold him down]
- Derek Reese: Uh-uh, no. GET OFF OF ME!
- [makes a lung for John barely being held back by Sarah and Charley]
- Derek Reese: WHERE IS HE! Where'd you send him? You owe me the truth!
- [rips off his oxygen apparatus and IV]
- Derek Reese: Get it off! Get it off of me! Get it off of me!
- [Sarah and Charley pin him to the table and start to sedate him again]
- Derek Reese: He's my blood. He's my blood. He's my blood! He's... my...
- John Connor: [to Derek] Kyle Reese, your brother - he came across time to protect me. He died fighting the machines. He was a soldier; and he was...
- [sighs]
- John Connor: He was a hero. He was a hero.
- Charley Dixon: I guess I wish... I would've known back then. I wish you coulda trusted me.
- John Connor: I did.
- Sarah Connor: That thing's done, right? It's vapor.
- Cameron Phillips: One missing component. His left hand. I'll find it.
- Sarah Connor: Everything needs to be destroyed, everything.
- Cameron Phillips: Everything.
- Sarah Connor: Every last bolt. Get it done.
- Cameron Phillips: I swear.
- [last lines]
- Sarah Connor: "Listen", Kyle said. "Listen and understand. The machine is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever. Until you are dead."
- Derek Reese: [to Kyle] Your guts are made of metal like your head. If you were a little smarter, you'd be a tin can.
