Strange movie.
andyonmob16 July 2020
The aliens are a bit pathetic, the acting mediocre and it was obviously a budget movie or student movie, but that said I watched it and was entertained. The plot was pretty crazy and the makeup overdone, but better than a lot of budget movies I have seen this year.

Zombies and Vampires and Cannibals, Oh my!
JoeB13119 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
And aliens, too! They just shoved everything in here like a game of Mad Libs.

So the plot is a couple of Christian Cannibals (after an extended scene where they slaughter a victim that went on too long) pick up a pair of hitchhikers, who turn out to be vampires!!! After the cannibals are dispatched, the vampires take a bath together (no nudity) and bemoan the fact that no one has healthy blood anymore.

Well, then the Zombie/Alien End Times break out, and a priest and a mute nun show up to provide expository dialog. After being attacked by the aliens, the Vampires realize they are immune because the aliens suck out souls, and they don't have souls. I should also point out that these vampires are fine with sunlight and crosses only mildly bother them.

But I give it some credit for trying. I think this was a student film that Amazon picked up.

Nuns with Guns
nogodnomasters13 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Rose (Kelly Brown) and Ursala (Victoria Steadman ) are vampires during an alien attack zombie apocalypse. They are held up at the house of some born-again cannibals, whom they kill. The irony of the situation was overstated and dragged out but was the only real good joke in the film. There is a preacher who describes the cannibals as godly and a mute nun with guns. The zombies had to be killed by a shot to the head, specifically the pineal gland, something mention in the original "Day of the Dead" I believe, but for a different reason.

The film was low budget and meant to be "fun" however, it was poorly conceived and executed. The tub scene conversation lasted way too long and got boring.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

It pains me to score this 1 star
michael_7512 April 2021
This film was so bad it annoys me that i had to give it 1 star in order to write this.

There is not one thing about this film that i can have a positive spin put on it. Everything about it was so bad, from the directing, acting script, editing and story. In particular the acting , the two that played the vampires lol talk about cringe worthy. Then there are the special fx. I mean come on! In an age where the average person can create movie quality special fx on a home computer, this was just laughable.

All i can say is that i sincerely hope that all involved are never allowed anywhere near so much as a camera phone ever again.

Gross
doktorwirefly10 May 2020
If you are entertained by cannibalism. That is none of my business. Personally I find it gross. Vampires and aliens ok but I never got that far. Switched it off and went to bed.

Oddly enjoyable...
paul_haakonsen19 May 2020
Right, well I was lured in by the movie's cover/poster, as it seemed rather interesting and had this epic vampire thing going on. So of course I took the time to sit down and watch this 2020 movie titled "Savage Creatures", despite not having heard about it prior to getting the chance to watch it.

So I had no expectations as to what the movie should bring to the screen.

Was I entertained? Well, sort of, in a strange way. I mean, the storyline was just mundane, to be frank, but there was just something oddly enjoyable in the whole match-up of cannibalism, vampires, butt-kicking priests and nuns with guns, zombies and aliens that worked on a geeky level.

Sure, the zombies were fast and agile, something which I loathe, but it didn't really matter, because they weren't playing that big a part in the movie. The aliens, however, well they were definitely interesting in design, and I liked that. As for the vampires? Well, no, that didn't work - for starters they were walking around in broad daylight with full sunshine, and of course they were lesbian lovers - sure, why not? I enjoyed the cannibal part to the movie, especially because it was set up to be devout god-fearing Christians! That was just hilarious. As for the priest and the nun, well the priest was just a bit too much, but the gun-crazy nun was a nice touch to the movie.

This was a low budget movie, certainly, but the movie was made with a lot of heart and spirit, and it was definitely showing on the screen that people were enjoying making this and put their entire effort into it.

While "Savage Creatures" is not a massive block buster movie in any way, it was actually sort of an oddly enjoyable movie, if you like me, have watched an abundance of zombie movies, vampire movies, alien invasion movies and movies about cannibals living in the remote countryside. So there is a little bit of everyone in here.

The acting in the movie was actually adequate. And I do enjoy watching a movie with unfamiliar faces on the screen, as the actors and actresses thus aren't associated with previously portrayed characters and roles in other movies.

My rating of "Savage Creatures" actually lands on a six out of ten stars, given the production and effort in the movie. It wasn't the most of entertaining movies in terms of script and storyline, but everything else was just whacky enough to make up for that shortcoming.

Savage Creatures
a_baron21 April 2021
It takes a little while to realise this film isn't to be taken too seriously, but if you allow for the ludicrous plot, it is certainly worth watching. It begins with a bit of misdirection: a woman and her son have kidnapped a young woman; taking her home, they murder her, chop her up, and...yes, they're cannibals. Shortly, they see two teenage girls/young women walking alongside the main road and offer them a lift. Thinking they have found two for the price of one, they take them home, drug them, and while mother goes shopping, son is left to prepare them for the freezer. He puts the first one in the bath and chops off one of her hands. And this is where the fun begins. They are vampires, four centuries and more old, and, it goes without saying, don't take too kindly to being drugged, much less butchered. But can they save the world from the invading aliens who are turning the locals into zombies? What do you think?

Fun without a budget
habakukofice30 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Vampires, cannibals, zombies and an alien invasion. And no budget at all. It's from Mill Creek Entertainment, so you know there's no budget. So this film, which is full of supernatural elements and an full on alien invasion, takes place almost entirely in and around a single house.

However, they actually do a really good job. The vampire fangs are fine. The zombie make up it ok. There is a scene where the cannibals are dismembering the vampires, and one of the few things this film could afford was a rubber arm. So they have two camera angles, and you see him cut this rubber arm off a body (which is off screen), then they cut back to the other angle and the cannibal is puzzled because they arm is still there. It's cheap, it requires no budget, but it gets the job done. Nice work, film. That's an efficient use of a limited budget.

They've only got a few actors, but they spread out introducing new characters. They've only got one building to film it, but they move around the building to make it less tedious. Sometimes they go out in the woods, but they don't just wander around aimlessly like so many cheap movies do when they go out into the woods.

So the entire film is cheap, but the only time it really hurts is when the aliens arrive. They look terrible, but they sound great. They make the most adorable sounds when they die.

So those two are the vampires, they survive some suburban cannibals, kill them, and they aliens arrive and turn the entire human race into zombies. The vampires are immune because they don't have souls, and they fight the aliens briefly, then set off to survive on blood banks.

I don't love this film, but I actually enjoyed it. Some decent character writing and the efficient production make it interesting enough to last more than its seventy minute run time. I recommend this movie.

File this under wish they had a better budget.
sign1in27 December 2021
But it was really funny, just the concepts going on in this movie made it fun, Cannibals vs Vamps, then Vamps vs Zombies created by aliens, then Vamps vs Priest/Nun, then Vamps vs the Aliens.

It was cute, and fun, worth the $1.25 I spent on it.

Watch it for low budget fun
chadwebsterjohnson6 January 2021
Kudos to Kelly Brown & Victoria Steadman as Rose & Ursula. The two leads make a clearly low budget film amazingly fun. Obviously they had fun making this film. Going in NOT knowing the plot at all I almost turned it off after the first scene. I still get squeamish when kids get killed in horror. Give it time though. You find yourself rooting for and laughing with the leads. I certainly hope Ms Brown & Ms. Steadman continue on making films. They are fun to watch.

Not bad
jinnynorth30 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Eery introduction which is good for any horror movie. Good use of music and lighting at the beginning.

Start is eery and consists of 2 cannibals who chop up a girl and eat her after transporting her to their house in back of their truck tied up. Set in mountains so no one would suspect their cannibals. They go on the prowl in their truck to seek their victims, typically picking up hikers who will like a lift who don't seem worried about getting in a car with strangers or going back to their house.

Will definitely make you think twice before hitching a ride.

Interesting plot twist when the 2 hitch hikers turn out to be vampires and drain the blood of one of the cannibals whilst his mum had gone to buy cleaning supplies.

Indy Film, Disgusting thoughts and concepts ahoy!
dreltart14 May 2024
First off, this movie starts slow. And it's more fun than serious.

Second, read the storyline. Or at least read the taglines. If you can handle all of those things, sometimes in detail, (especially cannibals) you're golden.

The depictions of the Holy roller style or ultra weird Christian religion is not favorable, the special effects are so-so to good, and it might benefit with a cut of the first ten to 20 minutes.

But this is an indy film. If you're forgiving, especially once you get into it, it's rather fun and irreverent and I really like the protagonists. The scenery is nice, the camerawork is good, and the idea strange, unusual, and amusing.

If you can get past the fact that this is a B movie with some disturbing characters, you'll love it. If not, move on.
