Yeah, it’s a genre piece — street chases and fights along the docks and on a farm. Yeah, the dialogue’s kept to a minimum, nothing much to write home about. But is it breathless, blow-the-doors-off fun? “Oh putain oui!”

For a director with no feature-length experience prior to this, Pierret pulls off an entertaining, well-staged action flick that does much well even if it does little new.
This isn’t Hiroshima Mon Amour. It’s more like Need for Speed Mon Amour done on a modest scale, with an effectively simple plot and nonstop action scenes that find a daunting number of ways to wreck and destroy cars.
