The forthcoming Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby will see Pakistani actors Mikaal Zulfiqar and Rasheed Naz in pivotal roles. While Naz who is well known for his work as Maulana Tahiri in the critically-acclaimed Khuda Key Liye will be playing a similar role in the film as Maulana Abdul Rahman, Zulfiqar’s role in the film has been kept a surprise.
Zulfiqar has already worked on three projects in India, including Godfather, Shoot on Sight and U R My Jaan, while Naz will be making his debut in Bollywood with Baby. Shooting for the action-packed thriller was conducted worldwide, from Kathmandu and Istanbul to Abu Dhabi, Mumbai and Delhi.
Gulshan Kumar presents Baby, a Neeraj Pandey film, a Crouching Tiger and Friday Filmworks production, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shital Bhatia, Cape of Good Films and Crouching Tiger, releasing on 23rd January, distributed in the UK by Filmonix.

Let us play the “Name Game”, shall we? Since we all are part of the experience here at the entertainment website known as Sound on Sight maybe we should pay homage to our online destination by celebrating it in an unconventional manner? Specifically, we can recognize Sound on Sight by acknowledging movie names that contain the words “sound” and “sight” in their titles.
However you may perceive this experimentation as being rather gimmicky and silly please realize that this movie column is also a means to recognize a few movie titles that are unfamiliar or perhaps a first-time discovery to some of you out there that never heard some of these cinematic selections. There may be a couple of well-known films in the bunch but collectively the features being mentioned in Sound on Sight: Top 10 Random “Sound” and “Sight” Movie Titles are aptly presented based on the theme at hand.

It’s been more than ten years since George Khan first appeared, effing and blinding on to the big screen in East Is East and now he’s back.
Om Puri has taken up his role again as the over-bearing British Pakistani father and Bradford chippy-owner in West is West but with a few big differences.
HeyUGuys caught up with the actor in the chambers of The Courthouse Hotel where he told us all about George’s guilty past as we delved into a few of the secrets to be unveiled in West Is West.
What made you want to come back to the project?
Well, it’s a fascinating and relevant story. East Is East was a successful film and there was no reason why there should not be a sequel. And there was money in it from a producer’s point of view, although I’m not a producer on the film.

As Apartment gets set to release this Friday, it has been revealed that the film was earlier titled Roommates and was supposed to star Gul Panag and Raima Sen along with Pakistani actor Mikaal Zulfiqar (who had featured in Shoot On Sight) in principal roles. Rensil de Silva’s much-anticipated Kurbaan is based on the London subway bombings of 7 July 2005. This is not the first film where Om plays a terrorist mastermind for the same gruesome terrorist attack in London.
Says Om, “In Jagmohan Mundhra’s Shoot On Sight I was also one of the instigating factors in the bombings. But there I played a far more basic character perpetrating hated. In Kurbaan I’m a suave intellectual with a mind behind my religious beliefs. The people who planned 26/11 or 7/7 had very precise deep and scientific minds. They weren’t the rabid illogical kind of religious.

Veteran actor Om Puri plays a terrorist who masterminds a massive attack in the Us in Rensil d'Silva's "Kurbaan" and says he has no reservations about playing a 'jehaadi' as audiences are mature enough to differentiate between an actor and a film character.Irrfan Khan had apparently said no to playing a terrorist in "Kurbaan". But Om Puri has no fears of playing villain. "I'm also aware other actors turn down parts of terrorists. But I've no such reservations. A role is a role. We cannot be moral and judgemental about the characters we play. In 'Kurbaan' I play the terror mastermind, a fully committed 'jehaadi' who is ready to sacrifice everything, including his wife (Kirron Kher) for the cause," the actor said."I played a radical mullah mouthing rabid dialogues in Jagmohan Mundhra's 'Shoot On Sight'.

Download image as wallpaper Two months back, Neetu Chandra was at pains to explain to all and sundry that her 13B wasn't a horror film but instead a supernatural thriller. Now she is forced to take the same route of denial even as the shoot of her latest film Apartment is making brisk progress. "I don't know why some out there are hell bent on placing me in a horror film. I have nothing against the horror genre and who knows, I may work in one as well in near future. But just like 13B wasn't a horror film, as everyone saw it for themselves, even Apartment doesn't have any inclusion of horror element. Guess people have started associating horror with every film that is set within the confines of four walls in a skyscraper apartment." She insists that while 13B still had supernatural element attached to it, if not the horror,...

Mumbai, Post-9/11 many Indian filmmakers experimented with the theme of terrorism. But filming them on foreign soil has become an uphill task, especially in Britain. If writer-director Renzil D'Silva had his way, his debut film on terrorism, which is being produced by Karan Johar, would have been shot in London. Unfortunately permission was denied to shoot in any underground tube station of London. The same happened with Karan's directorial venture "My Name Is Khan". He couldn't get permission to shoot this Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer in London. Finally, Karan too shot in the Us his film about the isolation of the Muslims after 9/11. A little ironical, considering Jagmohan Mundhra's "Shoot On Sight" based on the London tube-station bombing was shot on ...

Mikaal Zulfikaar, the Pakistani-British actor was hoping hard to make it big in Bollywood. But his dreams now have gone for a toss.
And the reason is the unofficial ban on Pakistani entertainers in Maharashtra.
Mikaal has made his debut as Naseeruddin Shah’s nephew in Jagmohan Mundra’s ‘Shoot On Sight’. He was supposed to arrive in Mumbai this month to begin shooting for Mundra’s ‘Roommates’ in February.
After this ban against Pakistani performers, the producers have quietly decided to replace Mikaal.
Says director Jagmohan Mundra, “You can’t.

Mikaal is ready to shift his base to India and is buying a property along with two other leading Pakistani entertainers, singer Atif Aslam and Ali Zafar. The producers of new movie Shoot On Sight have been condemned by the parents of a victim of the 2005 London bombings.
The film is about an innocent Muslim mistaken for a terrorist and shot dead on the London Tube by the Met Police - a script that closely mirrors the fate of Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes.
But the parents of Carrie Taylor, who was killed during the 7/7 bombings believe the movie only exploits de Menezes death.
John Taylor says, "I think that showing this in cinemas can only add to the distress and grief felt by the De Menezes family and the survivors of 7/7 and those who lost loved ones on that day.
"The hurt and pain doesn't go away overnight. Films like this only serve to stir up those painful memories.
"I feel the film paints a picture of the police as being incompetent and biased."
He adds, "But ultimately it wasn't the predictable plot or poor acting that caused offence to me but the cynical attempt to make money from a tragic event."
Shoot on Sight producer Aron Govill says: "We are not taking sides, just making a dramatic thriller and trying to explore racial bias."...
