Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaWhen talking about death, Turk and JD say their first day in heaven will be by the milkshake pool on the lesbian cloud. This is not a new plan. They mentioned this exact same plan in the season 5 episode My Way Home (2006).
- GoofsWhen JD and Turk read George's chart, it says he has ischemic bowel disease and JD's voiceover says that he is going to die. While IBD can be serious, it is treatable and is not the death sentence implied by JD. There would be no reason for them to think he was about to die, especially without a more thorough review of his medical history, which they did not do.
- Quotes
Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: George, I'm terrified of dying.
Dr. Christopher Turk: Me, too.
George: Then why'd you lie?
Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: We fight death for a living every single day. We can't let it know we're afraid of it or it'll kick our ass.
George: So there we are. Everybody's scared.
Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: Yeah.
Dr. Christopher Turk: Pretty much.
George: Well, then what in the hell do I have to hope for?
Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: Well, if it were me... I would just hope that my last thought was a good one.
George: [frowns] What, that's it?
Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian: That's it.
George: And you thought that was deep? That was... that wasn't deep.
Dr. Christopher Turk: Sorry.
George: [starts to laugh] I'm over here dying. That's all you... that's all you can come up with?

Bottom line is this: Out of the eight seasons of Scrubs (yes, I said eight...deal with it), this episode deserves much more fanfare than what it gets. There's no make-or-break moment but it is simple and straightforward.
Awesome. A real treat. George Valentine, FTW. He ranks right up there with other Scrubs patients such as Mrs. Wilk, Jill Tracy, and other memorable patients.
