Lost Boys 3’s Leading Lady Found

It’s an obvious headline, and all the coverage we give this movie is due to the love we have for the original Lost Boys.
As you may know Lost Boys 2: The Tribe didn’t set the world on fire, but that hasn’t stopped two sequels being forced at gunpoint into production, and now the leading lady for Lb number 3 has been revealed.
Shock Till You Drop have the scoop on the casting of the Twilight-esque Vampire Author whose son is kidnapped by a Fang Gang and calls on our favourite Frog brother into battle. She is Tanit Phoenix, an actor/model whose imdb profile looks a touch sparse but that’s not to say that she won’t sell a few tickets as long as they pick a tasteful picture on the posters.
As I’ve maintained from the outset – No Double Corey? No sell. It’s

Rabba just released another new fan made movie poster for the upcoming film “Lost Boys: The Thirst” aka Lost Boys 3 starring Corey Feldman (Lost Boys: The Tribe), Jamison Newlander (The Blob), Matthew Dylan Roberts and an unconfirmed Corey Haim. Here’s more details about Lost Boys 3 from Corey Feldman’s official blog.
“…as the title above us reads we are finally going to make a third installment to The Lost Boys series. I am very excited to get started. The title of the film will be Lost Boys: The Thirst and I am excited to say it will be a full scale return of the Frog Brothers(that means Jamison [...]

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming “Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball,” a prequel to Joe Carnahan’s kinetic hitman flick.
“Smokin’ Aces 2″ synopsis: Federal agents once again match wits with a cadre of creative killers in the high-octane feature-length film Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball. Walter Weed (Tom Berenger) is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey (Martha Higareda), a power-tool wielding psychopath (Vinnie Jones) and a deadly master of disguise (Tommy Flanagan). Also in the hunt is the fan-favorite Tremor family from the original film, featuring nymphomaniacal gun-nut (Autumn Reeser) and her lethal kinfolk (Maury Sterling, Michael Parks and C. Ernst Harth). If he never does anything else with the rest of his life at least Corey Feldman can say he was in four of the most beloved movies of the last thirty-years. Beginning with Gremlins in 1984 at the age of thirteen Feldman went on to star in classic films such as The Goonies and Stand By Me among other movies but it was his role as Edgar Frog in The Lost Boys that has kept in the hearts and minds of fans for decades. He reprised his role in last year's extremely successful direct-to-dvd release Lost Boys: The Tribe and it was recently announced that he would be appearing in a third film as well. We had the opportunity to speak with Feldman early this week and in light of the recent news that his wife and The Two Coreys co-star, Susie Sprague-Feldman has filed for divorce, he seemed upbeat

‘Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball’ Gets a Trailer

Did you know that there was a sequel in the works for 2006’s Smokin’ Aces, with practically none of the original cast? Neither did we, until this trailer came across The Flickcast desk. It would be an interesting take, if it had any of the same people involved as the original film.
While the film doesn’t look like it will do much justice to Joe Carnahan’s original, the trailer was quite clever. It starts off by making sure we see some of our favorite faces from the original, such as Jeremy Piven, and then it throws a record scratch in to tell us that we won’t see them anymore.
Instead of a well-rounded cast consisting of Piven, Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, Alicia Keys, and tons others, we now treated to the all-star cast of Vinnie Jones, Ernie Hudson, Tom Berenger, and the guy who had

I still haven't seen Joe Carnahan's Smokin' Aces, but the high energy hitman flick it seems to have a fair amount of fans out there. (Personally I always thought it looked like a Guy Ritchie knockoff, but maybe I'm wrong on that.) At any rate, the film was apparently popular enough to warrant a direct-to-dvd sequel... er, I mean, prequel. Joe Carnahan obviously has better things to do with his time (like directing The A-Team, for example), but he is still credited as executive producer on Smokin' Aces 2: Assassin's Ball.
The actual director of this flick, unfortunately, is P.J. Pesce -- the same man behind such memorable Dtv flicks as Lost Boys: The Tribe and From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter. None of the big name original cast members are returning for this film, but Tommy Flanagan will reprise his role as Lazlo Soot, and

I'll admit, I didn't like Joe Carnahan's Smokin Aces as much as I was hoping to. Disappointed is probably the appropriate word. That's not to say there isn't things to like about the film... it just wasn't the balls out action film that many were expecting. And the direct-to-dvd sequel, Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassin’s Ball, isn't likely to be any better. In fact, it will probably be a lot worse, especially considering that Lost Boys: The Tribe director P.J. Pesce is at the helm.
The press release advertises that the film "features a sexy cast, whip-smart script and hyper-kinetic visuals." The big selling point is that Lazlo Soot and the Tremor Brothers from the original theatrical film make their return. Here is the short plot synopsis (plot? do we really need a plot in a Smokin Aces direct-to-video sequel?):
Federal agents once again match wits with a

Sure, the title of the direct-to-dvd follow-up to Joe Carnahan's wicked violent Smokin' Aces isn't Electric Bugaloo, but I happen to like it better than Smokin' Aces 2: Assassin's Ball. So sue me.
This prequel, from director P.J. Pesce (Lost Boys: The Tribe), follows the story of several of the world's greatest, sexiest and most obnoxiously insane assassins -- all looking to kill one man, the criminally pedestrian Tom Berenger. More specifically, the plot goes something like this:
Walter Weed (Tom Berenger) is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey (Martha Higareda), a power-tool wielding psychopath (Vinnie Jones) and a deadly master of disguise (Tommy Flanagan). Corey Feldman is still keeping mum about plot details for The Lost Boys 3: The Bite , a follow-up to Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys and last year's direct-to-dvd sequel Lost Boys: The Tribe , but we did get him to bleed out a bit more info about the film this afternoon.
During our Splatter interview, the online series he stars in, Feldman revealed he leaves for South Africa next week to begin shooting. "This is going to be a good one," the actor said, "very big budget compared to the last one and the director's great."
At the helm this time? Dario Piana who directed The Deaths of Ian Stone . "He does some really good stuff with CGI. There are a lot more effects on this one. A lot more fighting, stunts and wire work. And it's the return

Kill Devil Hills - The scary season has arrived.
In the spirit of movies that make you fear going to the movies comes The Hills Run Red on DVD. Tyler (Tad Hilgenbrinck) is a film geek obsessed with an ’80s film called The Hills Run Red. The movie was quickly yanked from theaters and no prints or videotapes of the film exist. He finds a clue to the movie by locating one of its stars played by Sophie Monk. After a lapdance, she agrees to take Tad and his two friends to the shooting location. Tad doesn’t realize there might be a sequel in production.
Star Tad Hilgenbrinck and director Dave Parker called up the Party Favors hotline to chat about their grisly horror film about a gruesome horror film recently released on DVD by Warner Premiere.
Tad has been in Epic Movie, Disaster Movie and Lost Boys: The Tribe,

Many people may not even be aware that there was a Lost Boys sequel, but last year saw the release of Lost Boys: The Tribe. The title became a straight-to-dvd sensation, making back its $5 million dollar budget in just three weeks of DVD sales. The Tribe saw the return of Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog, a vampire hunter with an attitude, as well as Angus Sutherland filling in for his brother Kiefer. Corey Haim returned as well, but only for one scene at the end of the movie, while the other Frog brother, Jamison Newlander, only appeared in an alternate ending found on the DVD. Feldman told ShockTillYouDrop that the Frog Brothers will reunite for the third installment, titled Lost Boys: The Thirst.
We can't give away that much information right now. All I can tell you is this is officially the return of the Frog Brothers. We've gone through many stories.

Last night at the Eyegore Awards, Corey Feldman walked the red carpet with Jamison Newlander, his co-star in Lost Boys 3 , which shoots in South Africa next month. First question we had to ask - will Lost Boys 3 continue from the alternate deleted ending of Lost Boys: The Tribe in which Alan Frog (Newlander) is a vampire? Or will it return both brothers to their roots as vampire hunters?
"We can.t give away that much information right now," teases Feldman. "All I can tell you is this is officially the return of the Frog Brothers."
"I.m really excited," adds Newlander. "Honestly, Feldman.s been a big advocate of bringing the Frog Brothers back together on the screen, and I think it.s going to be great. I think that.s what the fans

The Hills Run Red (just out on DVD from Warner Premiere) is about the quest to track down a lost horror film of the same title, one supposedly so shocking that our protagonist is obsessed with witnessing its full, terrible vision. And yet this Hills has been issued in an R-rated cut only, with references on the audio commentary to scenes its creators wanted to include, but were too gruesome. Irony?
Nevertheless, there’s enough on view in Hills Run Red to push that R to its limits, and to justify its title. Before the plot even kicks in, we witness a young boy bloodily slicing up his own face before we’re introduced to aforementioned fright buff Tyler (Tad Hilgenbrinck, taking a giant step up from his previous Warner Premiere flick, Lost Boys: The Tribe). Having devoted himself to researching The Hills Run Red’s strange history, and seen

Long before vampires glittered (Twilight) or were battling werewolves (Underworld) they were hanging out in backwater towns and convincing teenagers they were eating maggots instead of noodles (Don’t worry, it was kind of like the vampire version of a Jedi mind trick). For those who don’t get the reference, I’m speaking of vampire cult film The Lost Boys.
It’s been more then twenty years since The Lost Boys came out and to give you an idea of how different vampires were back then, here’s the tag line from the original film: “Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It’s fun to be a vampire”. Yes, being a vampire was “fun”, especially when the only real threat was a couple of comic book geeks who claimed to be vampire hunters.
It took 21 years for The Lost Boys: The Tribe, a sequel

Why find new original Vampire stories to tell and cash in on the current genre craze when you've got a title ready for more exploitation? I'll tell you why: Lost Boys 2: The Tribe. That's why. Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander will be reprising their roles as Edgar and Alan Frog, world-class vampire hunters and surfboard shapers. Wow, did “Lost Boys 2: The Tribe” did that well that the Powers That Be are already set to shoot a third one later this year? Apparently so, and God bless DVD. Bloody-Disgusting has news on the plot and shooting date for the third movie, set to be called “Lost Boys 3: The Thirst”.

Twilight Descends on Lost Boys 3: The Thirst

The Lost Boys is a HeyUGuys favourite, and one hell of a vampire film. It was a fresh take on the vampire movie after decades of Hammer domination, and made stars of Keifer Sutherland and our friends, the Two Coreys.
Given that we've been in full nostalgia overload for the past few years it came as no surprise when the Lost Boys were found once again, updated in the anaemic sequel of last year: Lost Boys 2: The Tribe.
While Corey Feldman reassumed his role as Edgar Frog there was little to enjoy here as twenty years distance had offered nothing new to the Lost Boys mythology, and the skateboarding vamps were about as scary as Mary Poppins eating a cupcake. Worst of all the hazy angst of the first film was lost in favour of a fast paced gore fest, and so much of what made the original great was absent.

Let's throw a wrench into this Lost Boys assembly line, shall we? Filming on the second sequel, Lost Boys: The Thirst, is set to begin in early November (in Capetown, South Africa, no less) with Corey Feldman reprising his role as the moody vampire slayer, Edgar Frog. If you managed to fall into a sewer over the last year, the Crack Fox no doubt introduced you to Lost Boys: The Tribe, the worst vampire film to feature "extreme" skateboard stunts and tribal tatts in history. Death by direct-to-dvd. But wait! Based on the plot of Lost Boys 3, which contains a sparkly nod to Twilight, the next installment sounds even worse...
Our pals at Production Weekly have revealed the logline to Thirst, as follows...

Cashing in on all the Twilight hype is Warner Brothers' second sequel Lost Boys 3: The Thirst.
