Adam is given three IP addresses to three different websites. IP addresses are not the same thing as URLs (Uniform Resource Locators), as an IP address is a numeric address to a physical or virtual device. Web servers, specifically, will not have a single website assigned to one IP address as it is a wasteful use of a scant resource (there are only limited IP addresses), rather the web server will use multiple virtual host-names assigned to a single IP address.
Typing in an IP address will usually result in a placeholder web page being displayed, often a generic page from the flavor of web server. There are few instances where a single IP address corresponds to the home page of a web site.
URLs are used primarily because humans can remember names, letters and abbreviations far better than they can the dot decimal notation that are IP addresses, as well as the aforementioned limit of IP addresses.

Adam is told the bank will send him a list of "ISP addresses"; ISP being Internet Service Provider (broadband supplier). What he then receives is a list of IP Addresses, which resolve to domain names when Adam clicks the links.
