In one of his monologues for the audience, Dobie tries to justify his responsibility while his mother is away. On a chalk-board, he writes categories of housekeeping and gives himself (and his Dad) grades. First is Dishwashing (A+). Second is Cleanliness (A+), which is printed with curly "E"s that look like backward "3"s. When he comes back to the board to add Neatness (A+), the previous word Cleanliness has been rewritten, this time with squared-off "E"s.
