The guys want their independence and they get their wish! Mrs. G leaves for a few weeks to visit her sister, leaving Herb and Dobie in charge of the house and to do whatever they please... Trouble Ahead!
Maynard moves in to give them a helping hand and its a disaster. The place is a mess, especially the kitchen. The dirty dishes are stacked to the ceiling, but Dobie claims they are "neatly" stacked, and as for all the dust and crumbs-- the guys simply sweep it into a flower pot. Why not?
We also get to see Maynard's pet rabbits on the loose and he plays his bongo drums, much to Herb's dismay. When all the clean laundry is used up, Dobie and Herb have to take turns wearing Maynard's "emergency supply" of clean clothes -- a wacky t-shirt and an old coat?
Dobie uses the clothes to meet up with his latest date, Betty Sue. She's NOT impressed! More over, disciplinarian neighbor Reta Shaw checks on the guys, as she promised Mrs. G, and she is shocked at what she sees --OR is it Maynard??? Reta was one of the most popular movie and tv actresses, fondly remembered as the cook in MARY POPPINS.
Winnie finally comes home -- to what???
