Rules of Engagement

There was so much name dropping of cultural figures and celebrities. It reminded me of an episode of Coronation Street as written by Jonathan Harvey.

We have seen Lytton not being adverse to using dirty tricks in order to get a story. Here he gets infected by a touch of ethics. Hopefully he will find a cure for it.

Some stolen photographs sets him in pursuit of a judge who might had got friendly with a Soho pornogrpaher. His son got off an assault charge when recently up against the same judge who has a reputation of being very mean. Obviously a story to follow.

Lytton also has to deal with a new reporter Helena, a friend of the Australian proprietor. The rest of the newsroom is not happy that she has used connections to get here. Helena pursues a story of a tennis ace who is having marital strife, probably due to his philandering. Helena gets a story but Lytton is not happy about how she obtained it.

There is also a novel story of computer hacking at Buckingham Palace. It is just that no one knew at the time what hacking actually involved. I supposed you needed the palace computers to be using a modem.

Lytton wasted his time in this one. As the judge tells Lytton, it was the jury who found the pornographer's son not guilty!
