This one seems to have snuck up from nowhere. SlashFilm are reporting that Tim Burton is looking to direct an adaptation of Matt Wilson’s board game. The script is being worked on by John August (Big Fish, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride and *cough* Charlies Angels: Full Throttle) and is planning to be presented in (surprise!) 3-D.
The plot sees earth being attacked by aliens, who retreat underground when mankind fights back. It then transpires that they have not retreated entirely and are waiting to return. Humans then develop giant robots to fight the aliens when they return. So essentially Burton’s take on Monsters v Aliens v Transformers for a summer blockbuster release. Where is the queue starting? Seriously.
