Sex & Nudity

  • A man has sex with a woman from behind in a bathroom stall. But the scene is brief.
  • Men are seen naked from behind in a shower scene.
  • A guard gets an erection from being authoritative (not shown explicitly).
  • Pornographic magazines with pictures of naked women are shown.
  • A male prison guard demands fellatio from a male prisoner, and then attempts to rape him, but is interrupted. Afterwards, the same prison guard continues the interrupted rape successfully (he pushes the male victim towards the wall, starts to hump him, and we hear him groan), but is interrupted before climaxing.

Violence & Gore

  • Video clips of graphic real life violence are shown. A man is shot in the head, a man is hit by a car, a man is executed by a firing squad, a cow's throat is slit open, video clips of concentration camp victims, a video clip of open heart surgery, and an animal is shot.
  • Men are punched, slapped, and heads are held under water as punishment. Lots of torture is used in the film, usually graphic.
  • A man is hit in the head with a baton.
  • Near the end, a few men get stabbed, and/or severely beaten up.

Profanity

  • Lots of swearing, 40-50 of which are the word fuck and its variations.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Guards are seen drinking alcohol and smoking cigars.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This movie is very intense, psychological and violent, and it involves lots of fighting and rebellions between prisoners and guards. Its main themes are torture and humilation. Such scenes are disturbing, and might upset some viewers.
  • For instance, a man is urinated upon by some men, and a man's head is put in and out a dirty toilet for over a minute.
