A Note Regarding Spoilers

The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. Spoiler tags have been used sparingly in order to make the page more readable.

For detailed information about the amounts and types of (a) sex and nudity, (b) violence and gore, (c) profanity, (d) alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and (e) frightening and intense scenes in this movie, consult the IMDb Parents Guide for this movie. The Parents Guide for Donkey Punch can be found here.

What is this film about?

Three 20-somethings meet some men while vacationing in Spain. The men work on a luxury yacht, and they invite the 20-somethings to party with them on it. One of the girls' neck is broken by a donkey punch, the others decide to throw her body overboard, which leads them into all-out violence.

What is a "donkey punch"?

According to Wikipedia, a donkey punch "is a slang term for a potentially lethal sexual practice sometimes performed during anal sex. The purported practice involves the penetrating partner punching the receiving partner in the back of the head or neck...allegedly causing the receiving partner's anal passage to tense up and increase the pleasure of the penetrating partner."

Yes. At the beginning of the movie, a girl is accidentally killed when her sex partner tries a donkey punch on her. Her death is just the first of the "creative" kills in this film.

Heartbeats by a Swedish band called The Knife.

What is Russian ice?

Russian ice a street name for methamphetamine.

Who dies and how?

Lisa (Sian Breckin) has her neck broken when Josh (Julian Morris) donkey punches her in the back of the neck during sex. Marcus (Jay Taylor) is shot with a flare gun by Kim (Jaime Winstone) and dies from the burns. Tammi (Nichola Burley) suddenly flips when Bluey (Tom Burke) is taunting her and stabs him in the chest with a bread knife. [spoiler]He stays alive through a large portion of the film until later when Josh starts twisting the knife so that Bluey will reveal where the video tape is of Josh killing Lisa. When he thinks Bluey is lying about where he hid the tape, he pulls the knife out and Bluey dies from blood loss. [spoiler]Sean (Robert Boulter) is killed by Kim using the motor blade of a boat after she sees him holding a gun over Tammi and mistakenly thinks he's going to shoot her. Kim throws herself off the boat and into the sea out of desperation and guilt over killing Sean. [spoiler]She presumably drowns. Josh leaves the yacht with Tammi in a small boat and threatens her with a knife to give him the tape. [spoiler] She throws the tape on the floor and when he bends down to pick it up she grabs the rope that was used to tie the small boat to the yacht and wraps it around Josh's neck. The rope goes taunt and it yanks Josh out the boat and in the water. He either breaks his neck when the rope went taunt, suffocates, or drowns. Tammi then fires off a flare and is presumably rescued.

One movie often compared to Donkey Punch is Dead Calm (1989) in which a mass-murderer terrorizes a young couple while at sea on their yacht.

Basically there's only one big difference between both versions: a sex scene has been censored very subtly. They used a black quad to cover the backside and other parts of the actors. A detailed comparison between both versions can be found here.
