The short "Boo Ha Ha" (which was originally called "Hi, Spirits") was originally storyboarded by Bob Camp and Jim Smith while Spumco was waiting for Nickelodeon to green-light The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991). Steven Spielberg re-tooled the short, so when Camp and Smith began working on "Ren and Stimpy", they re-worked the original boards for "Boo Ha Ha" into what would become the "Ren and Stimpy" episode "Haunted House".
