The big bust.

I'd buy the Brooklyn Bridge from the intelligent but clumsy young woman played by the former Rizzo who once again tried a TV series and it's a pity that the midseason show wasn't picked up. She's a delight as the awkward young woman who does a tryout for a job as a consumer advocate, outing dentist Leonard Stone for false practices that rip off the public. You've also got her hard nosed new boss (Ron Silver), acerbic TV station owner Max Showalter, her dizzy best friend Sydney Goldsmith and gruff but big hearted landlord Jack Somack who obviously has a soft spot for her.

The first episode is extremely funny, and Channing is so magical onscreen that she can make even the lamest of dialogue seem smart. I've seen her on stage many times, and she's as magnetic on the little screen as she is on the big screen and on the other side of the footlights. The ensemble is really good even if some of the characterizations are sitcomish and cliched. Goldsmith and Somack may not be household names but they certainly can hold their own with her. Silver of course is fantastic, and Showalter very showy with his classic vaudeville style persona. A great beginning.
