Rapper Wale and the go-go band Ucb have been tapped as the official house band for the MTV Video Music Awards this year. They will provide the night's soundtrack for the show.
Wale is expected to perform his hit single "World Tour," as well as collaborate with artists such as The All-American Rejects, Pitbull, and 3Oh!3.
He said, "This is a monumental point in my career. As an unknown artist, it was an honor for me to perform with Mark Ronson at the 2007 VMAs. This year, Ucb and I will be adding an extra element to the VMAs as we bring our signature sound of go-go music to the stage."
The MTV Vma 2009 will be held at the Radio City Hall in New York on September 13. Russell Brand returns as host for the second time in a row.
