Walter finds out that despite their meagre income. Ada is really looking after him and he gets some good filling sandwiches to take to work.
When Walter and his friend Cyril notice some tins hiding in a draw, they conclude that Ada must be shoplifting.
Walter and Cyril go back to the supermarket to put all the stuff back. Only for Walter to be accused of shoplifting.
Of course it turns out that this are all goods Ada gets cheaply from son in law Leslie.
This is an episode based on misunderstandings and assumptions. Walter does not even wait to ask Ada about the tins.
Ada is on good form here with her malapropisms. There is some nice misdirection as Leslie tells Ruth about Fat Elsie, a prolific shoplifter.
