Billed as a reality series where Rob convinces Amber to risk it all as he attempts to become a professional poker player, this series feels like nothing more than a poorly scripted show. In fact two writers are listed in the credits. Rob and Amber were exciting to watch on Amazing Race and Survivor, because those were good shows, and they made them better, now it's just the two of them and frankly Amber is about as interesting as watching paint dry. The only highlight of this 10 episode "reality" show is the occasional appearance of professional poker player Daniel Negraneu (sp). Otherwise it feels like a 1/2 hour infomercial for Las Vegas apartments, hotels and attractions. A typical 1/2 hour episode has Rob's friend flying in and we have to watch him and Rob play poker, then to make it worse Rob does a voice over (ala Survivor/Race) detailing how incredibly well he played his hand(s). Who cares. About the only thing they didn't show during the 10 episodes was Rob playing poker, OK they did a few times, but for the most part his poker playing felt more like a paid endorsement for an on-line poker website, which got mentioned several times, including one forced scene in which Amber shouts out that Rob has an email from...
If you liked Rob & Amber on the Race and Survivor, don't watch this series (if you can find it, it's on Fox Reality Channel), because you'll come away viewing them not as exciting reality show players but instead as underpaid bad actors willing to take any part for money. There was very little reality in this series, and even less worth watching. If you need a Rob and Amber fix rent Survivor All Stars or Amazing Race Season 7, that way you may still like them when you are done watching.
Rob and Amber Against the Odds Season 2 - Rob convinces Amber he wants to be a porn star? Who knows?
