Kiefer Sutherland: Jack Bauer
Quotes
-
Jack Bauer : CTU, this is Bauer... We've got a problem.
-
Phillip Bauer : Whatever your brother may have done: he didn't deserve this
Jack Bauer : I didn't mean for this to happen
Phillip Bauer : Yeah, well
Jack Bauer : Yeah, I'm sorry about Graem, I am but right now CTU wants to know about your connection to Dmitri Gredenko
Phillip Bauer : What?
Jack Bauer : They said his working with Fayed, they want to know what you know about him
Phillip Bauer : He was the Russian liaison on our government contract to decommission Soviet nukes, why?
Jack Bauer : What kind of dealings did "you" have with him?
Phillip Bauer : A couple phone calls to Moscow: that's about it
Jack Bauer : Do you know of any contacts Gredenko might have which would allow Fayed to move the remaining four nukes?
Phillip Bauer : Like I told you, I had virtually no involvement. Graem oversaw the project, he dealt with Gredenko. Whatever you need to know, died with him
Jack Bauer : Do you know where Marilyn is?
Phillip Bauer : No, why? You want to question her too?
Phillip Bauer : [Before Jack leaves the room] she's probably with Josh: his taking the death of his father pretty hard. Leave him alone, let him grieve in peace. I'll make call to some of the company executives about Gredenko, maybe Graem shared "something" I wasn't privy to
-
Jack Bauer : [In the Situation Room] I talked to my father about Gredenko: he said he'll make some inquires but I think it's a dead end, he doesn't know anything
Nadia Yassir : The news from here isn't much better, but Milo managed to trace the fragment he pulled off Fayed's computer to a local IP network, it confirms Gredenko is definitely here in LA. I've got my people monitoring chatter, data mining interagency backlogs on Gredenko's activity prior to going underground, right now that's all we can do
Jack Bauer : Ok
Nadia Yassir : Have a seat
Jack Bauer : What is it?
Nadia Yassir : The toxicology report on your brother's body: forensic evidence indicates the Hydralazine Pentothal you administered to Graem during the interrogation was the cause of his coronary. There's something else, I saw the field tape and Rick Burke's report for Division. He said you exceeded protocols, even after he warned you of dangerous levels
Jack Bauer : That's true, Agent Burke tried to warn me
Nadia Yassir : And you pulled a gun on him. You must realize how this looks, coming right after your brother tried to kill you
Jack Bauer : I lost control
Nadia Yassir : Because you found out he was responsible for David Palmer's assassination?
Jack Bauer : [Angrily] yes because I found out about David Palmer's assassination, because I found out about everything. I lost control, I tried to tell you I didn't I could do this, I wanted to kill my brother. I wanted him dead, I was standing over him and I looked up and saw my father in the doorway and everything just stopped. I ordered Agent Burke to shut down the IV and he did. I thought we got it in time. I did not set out to kill my brother. I swear to you
Nadia Yassir : I can "adjust" the report before I send it to Division
Jack Bauer : No
Nadia Yassir : An Internal Affairs investigation would impede our search for Fayed and Gredenko: right now you are critical to that
Jack Bauer : You cannot cover this up. I ordered Agent Burke to administer the Hydralazine Pentothal. I killed my brother. Whatever the consequences are, I accept them, do this right
Nadia Yassir : Ok, I'll submit the report as is
-
Jack Bauer : I heard you were with Josh, I didn't want to disturb you
Marilyn Bauer : He is taking it pretty hard: he loved his father very much
Jack Bauer : I'm very sorry
Marilyn Bauer : You don't owe me an apology
Jack Bauer : They haven't told you the circumstances around Graem's heart attack?
Marilyn Bauer : They told me enough. Look, I know the kind of man Graem was, even if he died from your interrogation, I don't blame you, I blame him. The truth is, I've tried to leave Graem for years but he threatened to take Josh away from me. He said I'd never see him again
Jack Bauer : Did Josh know what he was like?
Marilyn Bauer : No, I was trying to protect him from the truth of his father
Jack Bauer : What've you told him about his father's death?
Marilyn Bauer : Only that he had a heart attack: that's it for now
Jack Bauer : Yeah, I'm sorry, I have to go back to work
Marilyn Bauer : Is it true there are more bombs out there?
Jack Bauer : Yes
Marilyn Bauer : Are you any closer to finding them?
Jack Bauer : No, we've hit a "road block." Right now we're looking for a Russian operative we believe is helping the terrorists. Graem knew him
Marilyn Bauer : Russian?
Jack Bauer : A man named Gredenko. You know him?
Marilyn Bauer : No
Jack Bauer : But you know "something"?
Marilyn Bauer : Maybe, it was probably nothing. It was months ago
Jack Bauer : Anything you tell us might help
Marilyn Bauer : Graem was going out a lot at night and he said it was "work related", I didn't believe him. I thought he was having an affair so one night I followed him: it wasn't out of jealousy, it was for leverage, anything I could against him to get custody of Josh if I left him
Jack Bauer : Where did he go?
Marilyn Bauer : It was to a house in West LA. I went to the window and the blinds were drawn, but I could hear inside talking to some men, they had Russian ascents
Jack Bauer : What were they saying?
Marilyn Bauer : I couldn't hear them clear enough and frankly once I realized he wasn't cheating on me, I got in the car and went home
Jack Bauer : Do you remember the address of the house?
Marilyn Bauer : No, I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I was more concerned about getting caught
Jack Bauer : It is vital we find this man Gredenko. If we retrace the route you took that night, do you think you could recognize the house?
Marilyn Bauer : Maybe
Jack Bauer : Maybe?
Marilyn Bauer : [after thinking it over] yeah I think so
-
Marilyn Bauer : [after seeing the scars on his right hand] I can't imagine what you went through in China. When you were over there, I thought a lot about you. I "tried" not to. I guess I "tried" not to think about you for over twenty years
Jack Bauer : We don't need to talk about this
Marilyn Bauer : It was your father wasn't it? He drove you away: tried to pressure you to work for his company. Is that why you left? Enlisted in the military?
Jack Bauer : There were a lot of reasons
Marilyn Bauer : Was I one of them?
Jack Bauer : No
