Mubi is continuing its partnership with Dok Leipzig to showcase highlights from their tribute Visual Electrics. The Cinema of Jay Rosenblatt in this year’s 60th festival edition. Mubi's retrospective is showing November 3, 2017 - March 4, 2018 in most countries around the world. It is a common and justified rhetorical device to begin an article on the retrospective of a filmmaker with an impression, a little observation or the description of a scene. A couple of months ago director James Mangold said that he was working on a black and white version of Logan. I figured it would be something included for fans on the DVD/Blu-ray, but according to Mangold the black and white version of the film will also get a theatrical release for one day and that day is May 16th.
I'm sure you remember that some of the promo images and videos that were released during the Logan marketing campaign were in black and white. All that stuff looked great, and I'm stoked that we will get to see the full film in that format.
This is a screening event not to be missed! Hopefully, I'll be able to get tickets! Here's the information that was revealed by Mangold on Twitter.
Suggestion. Hard core B&W loving Logan fans should not make any plans on the evening of May 16th.
