Warning: Spoilers
The makers of WOLF CREEK claim that their horror movie is based on the true story of two of the "30,000 Australians reported missing every year." (That seems a bit of a stretch; if that many go missing every year, dingos must be eating a lot more than babies & EVERYONE must be picnicking at Hanging Rock!! When you watch the feature, it seems as likely that the two allegedly doomed Brit chicks simply dumped the Aussie loser; according to his story--as filmed--he was NOT even in a position to see ANY of the main action, so most likely the girls were a figment of his imagination to begin with, just like Notre Dame footballer player T'eo's fake "girlfriend.") However, this making of is real; it covers the production of an actual horror film titled WOLF CREEK in a feature-length 49 minutes, 40.89 seconds. The many cast and crew appearing as themselves here seem entirely forthcoming, highlighting such details as the unusual rain they needed to make into a silver lining during filming. Tellingly enough, the real life person who made up this cock and bull story is NOT presented, or even named, or listed as a technical adviser. So either the character "Ben" is a liar, or the filmmakers are lying that Ben ever existed.
