Sex & Nudity

- Little actual nudity, but several sex scenes, mostly implied or discreetly photographed by showing only bedsheets moving. There are two orgasm scenes. There are also a few scenes where sex is discussed.
- In one scene the characters passionately kiss and undress. They are naked during the sex scene, but little is shown - basically side views of the couple.
- In another scene the two people are completely under the sheets the entire time they are having sex - even their heads. After finishing the female character gets out from under the sheets and lies there on her back - her breasts are visible. In the next scene she walks into a bathroom naked and stands in front of a mirror - she is shown naked from the waist up throughout this scene. Male nudity is limited to bare chest.
Violence & Gore

- In another scene she is shown battered and bruised with few clothes on. She is bleeding from the nose as well as from several cuts on her arms.
- There is a car wreck, and someone is killed. The car wreck scene is shown several times throughout the latter part of the movie.
Profanity

- There is drinking in various scenes, mostly in a social setting.
- In one scene in a dance club, two young men are shown taking MDMA (ecstasy) in powder form while another young man is taking GHB by putting drops of it into his own drink. One man accidentally overdoses when he drinks his friend's cola and collapses; he is taken out by paramedics and goes to the emergency room. Crystal meth is mentioned and cocaine use seen.

- Most of the scenes involving Penelope Cruz's millionaire lover are quite intense.
- A woman is shown being pushed down a flight of stairs.
