Bon Jovi have announced a new album, Forever, out June 7th via Island Records. As a preview, the band has unveiled the video for its lead single, “Legendary.”
The pop-country-tinged track is anthemic and positive, fueled by major chords, “whoa-oh” choruses, and Jon Bon Jovi’s charismatic presence. The singer has battled vocal issues in recent years, but his voice sounds clean on the verses as backing vocals by the rest of the band supplement the song’s chorus.
“This record is a return to joy,” said Jon Bon Jovi via a press release. “From the writing, through the recording process, this is turn up the volume, feel good Bon Jovi.”
Bon Jovi are celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band this year. In addition to the new album, a career-spanning Hulu docuseries, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, is set to premiere on April 26th.

Going to an Elton John concert is an experience — fans eagerly play the air piano, parents film the show with their cellphones like feverish teenagers, and attendees wear sequined blazers, studded rhinestone glasses and fuzzy scarves to match the style of the Rocket Man.
All this was captured in Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, which aired live on Disney+ on Nov. 20. The concert took place 47 years after John’s historic 1975 performance at the Los Angeles ballpark that cemented his superstar status.
“The love from the audience, the kindness, the generosity, the loyalty — it’s been like one big party,” John says of the stop on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which wraps July 8 in Stockholm. “It’s like the end of an era, and it’s a happy end to an era.”
Adds the special’s executive producer David Furnish, who is married to the singer-composer: “I...

Dua Lipa and Elton John are becoming our favorite new duo. Not long after the pair performed a special "Bennie and the Jets" duet at Elton's AIDS Foundation Oscars preparty - when the "Future Nostalgia" star headlined the event in April - they're teaming up again, this time on a new track.
"Cold Heart" is a remix collaboration with Australian dance music trio Pnau, who worked with John on the 2012 album Good Morning to the Night, which featured new songs created by mixing samples of some of his earlier music. "Cold Heart", in particular, is a dance track that blends together a number of John's iconic songs including "Rocket Man,""Sacrifice," and "Kiss The Bride."
A day before they released the song, both performers took to Instagram to share a snippet of the track. In the snippet, we hear John on vocals, as Dua chimes in with famous lyrics from...

Dua Lipa and Elton John have reteamed for new cut “Cold Heart (Pnau Remix).” The track’s remixers are an Australian dance trio who John has mentored and previously worked with for the 2012 remix of Good Morning to the Night.
The new “Cold Heart” track features interpolations of John’s 1989 ballad “Sacrifice” with his 1972 smash “Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going to Be a Long, Long Time),” 1983’s “Kiss the Bride,” and 1976’s “Where’s the Shoorah?” as the songs get a groove-tipped refresh in the mashup.

Though he's never had acting aspirations of his own, casting director Michael Testa feels a special kinship with actors. He loves the energy they bring into the audition room and the variety they bring to his job. "Each day's very different, and each day you meet a ton of actors," he says. "I guess I'm a blabbermouth. I like to talk to people." As a co-owner of Shaner/Testa Casting, he currently works on the CBS procedural "Cold Case" and the ABC Family dramedy "Make It or Break It." Other credits include the TV shows "Roswell" and "Moonlight," the films "Kiss the Bride" and "Moonlight Serenade," and more than 70 TV movies.Self-StarterI answered an ad in Variety a long time ago to be a casting intern at a TV production house. I was never an actor, I never wanted to be an actor, but I studied film for years and...

Los Angeles — Charlie David, star of the popular series Dante’s Cove and the recent feature Mulligans, is slated to star in the independent film Judas Kiss, the movie’s producers announced today.
David will play the role of Zachary Wells, a washed-up filmmaker who returns to his peculiar alma mater, where he meets his younger self and gets the chance to change his troubled past so he can avoid a disturbing future.
Judas Kiss is the first feature film from director J.T. Tepnapa, who has won many international
awards for his short films, including the multiple award-winning parody of 1950s teen health films, Masturbation: Putting the Fun Into Self-Loving, the comedy Drag Queen Heist and the drama about homeless youth, Begging for Change.
“I’m excited to work with such a multi-talented entertainer,” Tepnapa said.
“Charlie’s experience in front of and behind the camera will add so much to Judas Kiss’ production values.

A Note from the Flying Monkey: Of the many emails I receive every week for my column, some are so good that they simply can’t be answered in just a few words. So from time to time, the editors have decided to let me out of the “cage” of that regular column, in a feature we’re calling Monkey Uncaged!
Q: What, in your opinion, is the worst gay film ever made? Why? – A.R.
A: A couple of months ago, I wrote a list of what I considered to be the ten most “important” gay male films – not what I felt were the “best,” mind you, but the ones that I felt had had the most impact either on the Glbt community or society at large.
