Little Iris' death some twenty five years ago comes to the attention of the Cold Case team when a medical analyst suspect the real cause of her untimely passing was a crime, not a case of SIDS, or sudden instant death syndrome. The baby was found wet, giving the detectives an indication Iris was the victim of foul play.

The Cold Case unit begins the investigation by interviewing the parents, Roger and Mollie Felice, who are now divorced. In flashbacks we are shown how the younger versions of the Felices had a strained relationship because of their demanding careers. There are two babysitters that could well be involved in the infant's murder. Also, an associate of Mollie, Stella, as well as the grown up brother of Iris, Devon, are questioned.

Unfortunately, Iris was the victim of another circumstance, something that in 1982 did not get too much publicity. In reconstructing the case, the culprit is found, much to everyone's surprise.

The episode, written by Liz Garcia, has elicited two other comments to the show. Sometimes one can't help to find the subject matter not to our liking, as is the case with an angel like Iris, but it does happen, more and more in our society. This chapter in the series was directed by David Barrett.

Kathryn Morris is again seen involved with Ray, a man that doesn't seem to get out of her life, although he comes and goes without much explanation. The guest stars are fine. Susan Blakely, a frequent face on television is seen as the actual Mollie, whereas Margaret Easley plays the younger one. Robin Thomas appears as the grieving father, Roger.
