If there is a television series out there synonymous with the word “Iconic,” it has to be Friends. While the comedy series was released all the way back in 1994, it has managed to pass the test of time and is as incredible today as it was decades ago. Whether it is Joey, Chandler, Ross, Pheobe, Monica, or Rachel, the six fictional people were more than just characters; they were our friends.

While there are a lot of unforgettable moments from the ten seasons of the show, the intro will always take the win. Set to the tune of I’ll Be There for You by The Rembrandts, the intro holds a special part in our hearts as the actors dance around a fountain. However, there was a time when this iconic intro did not exist at all.

Chris Pratt listened to a lot of old school music as his Guardians of the Galaxy character Peter Quill. But after a while, he didn’t enjoy the soundtrack nearly as much as his Star-Lord did.
Why Chris Pratt grew tired of Star-Lord’s music Chris Pratt | Anthony Harvey/Getty Images
Pratt did whatever he could to get into the head of his Star-Lord character in Guardians of the Galaxy. This meant working out rigorously for the role so he could get himself into superhero shape. But this also meant listening to Star-Lord’s music nonstop. When audiences are first introduced to Pratt’s Peter Quill in the first movie, the character is seen dancing around and listening to music. The music is a mix of songs Quill’s mother made for him back when he was still living on Earth.

It’s not uncommon for films to have reshoots when the initial production wraps. Certain scenes would need more energy, more clarity, a better location, etc. However, it was recently reported that the John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, is being pushed back an entire year so that the film can undergo some big reshoots. After the massive success of John Wick: Chapter 4 brought the franchise into the billion-dollar club, Lionsgate is finding ways to continue the series with or without Keanu Reeves since Mr. Wick may or may not finally be at rest.
Ian McShane, who plays Winston in the films, recently appeared on BBC’s The One Show and spoke candidly about the studio bringing in Wick series director Chad Stahelski after they weren’t satisfied with the original cut. McShane says that the movie isn’t undergoing reshoots but having new shoots. He explains, “They’re new-shooting for Ballerina.

John Wick regular Ian McShane has been quite frank about spin-off Ballerina and its reshoots. “They’ve got to make it better,” he says.
The great Ian McShane is currently on the promo tour for his latest film, the drama-thriller American Star, in which he plays an ageing hitman – we’ve seen it, and we really rather liked it.
On BBC One magazine programme The One Show, meanwhile, McShane has talked with remarkable frankness about the forthcoming Ballerina – a spin-off from the John Wick action series in which he’s regularly appeared. In the wake of recent reports that the film is to be delayed until June 2025 – a full year – to allow for new action sequences to be shot, McShane offered his own perspective on the production.

Steve Coogan is reprising his iconic role of Alan Partridge for new spoof documentary And Did Those Feet… Here are the details.
The BBC has announced a new Alan Partridge series, which will take the form of a spoof documentary called And Did Those Feet… With Alan Partridge. It’s once again written by Steve Coogan and brothers Neil and Rob Gibbons, with the latter also directing. The official description of the series reads as follows:
In his new documentary series – And Did Those Feet… With Alan Partridge – we follow the beloved and, to be fair, revered broadcaster as he reintegrates into life in Britain after a year working in Saudi Arabia. But what begins as a documentary about homecoming soon morphs into something more personal as Alan realises that the happiness he thought he’d feel at being back in Norwich just hasn’t materialised. Something’s missing.

It’s almost time for Claudia Winkleman to return to her cool, damp burrow, where she’ll remain, out of sight, for the remaining winter months. When her twitching nose smells summer, Winkleman will emerge refreshed, gorge on a pawful of hazelnuts from the forest floor to nourish her glossy coat, and begin the long journey to Scotland to film a third series of The Traitors.
That’s ridiculous, sorry. Claudia Winkleman isn’t a forest creature; she’s a human person, equal parts knitwear and eyeliner. Her oversized jumpers aren’t self-woven in an underground den; she buys them. From monks. Who knit them out of rainclouds and sin.
Apologies. Again. It’s hard not to tip into fantasy when it comes to Claudia Winkleman, because as a creation she is fantastical. A kohl-rimmed alien. She’s funny and weird and distinctive, with a way of speaking that’s...

When The Beatles first visited the U.S., a few aspects of America delivered a culture shock. The four boys from Liverpool hadn’t seen certain things, such as armed police officers or people driving on the right side. Since The Beatles visited in 1964, the band was also exposed to segregation, a policy they disagreed with. The Beatles forced one venue in the South to desegregate, and Paul McCartney learned a “lovely story” about that concert.

Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” came out in 1973 as the lead single of the album of the same name. At that time, Parton and her husband Carl Dean had been married for seven years. In a recent interview, the “Jolene” singer answered what Dean thought of the song then, and how the couple joke about the song now.
How Carl Dean felt about ‘Jolene’ when Dolly Parton first wrote the song
“Jolene” tells the story of a woman who’s worried about her man leaving her for another woman who’s prettier than her. Unlike many country songs about cheating, the song is a plea from the woman in the relationship to the woman she’s worried her partner will leave her for. It’s not angry, it’s desperate—a refreshing twist on an old trope.

When "Andor" was first announced as the newest "Star Wars" streaming series, it didn't take fans very long to connect the dots and figure out how previously established characters could once again make cameo appearances or even become supporting characters in the prequel show. Anyone from the Alan Tudyk-voiced droid K-2So to Genevieve O'Reilly's Mon Mothma were suddenly up for grabs, though only the latter ended up appearing in any significant role in the first season of "Andor." That restraint went a long way towards making this Tony Gilroy-created series as much of a success as it was, putting a clear emphasis and priority on storytelling over fan service. That sense of self-control is apparently set to continue with the next (and last) season of the series if actor Felicity Jones is to be believed.

The White Lotus season three will see the unexpected return of a popular character from its first season.
A representative for Natasha Rothwell confirmed to The Independent on Wednesday (19 April) that she will feature in the next run of episodes.
In the debut season, which aired in 2021, Rothwell played Belinda, a spa worker at the Hawaii-based luxury hotel.
Across the six episodes, Belinda connects with grieving and lonely guest Tanya, played by Jennifer Coolidge.
Tanya leans on Belinda for support and makes an unfulfilled promise to provide Belinda with financial support to launch her own wellness centre.
Fans of the show appreciate Belinda for her grounded outlook on life, in contrast to the lofty and often inappropriate expectations of the hotel guests.

Alex Jones has looked back at one of The One Show’s most memorable interviews involving former cohost Matt Baker and the then-Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Jones, who has been a main presenter on the BBC One evening magazine show since 2010, has been present for some of the programme’s landmark moments.
During an appearance on the Off Menu podcast this week, Jones was asked about The One Show’s 2011 live interview with Cameron.
Towards the end of the segment, Baker had a quick additional question for the Conservative politician: “How do you sleep at night?”
Viewers were surprised and entertained at the hard-line implication of the presenter’s query, as it clashed with the usual lightness of the programme.
“I’ve always managed to sleep okay,” Cameron replied. “If you work hard during the day and get your stuff done, try and put it behind you. At the end of the day,...

Alex, who dated fellow TV presenter Steve from 1999 to 2002, recorded an appearance on Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, in which she revealed the lengths her former partner went to prevent her from getting an interview with the Hollywood star – an alleged betrayal that led to their break-up.
The presenter spoke about the situation in response to a question written by the podcast’s production team before recording began. It was: “Did you ever get revenge on Steve Jones for that stunt he pulled on Rise?”
Alex replied: “I’ll definitely answer it. So long, long story short, back in the day I was an entertainment correspondent on Rise, and Angelina Jolie was coming on to be interviewed.”

Adrian Chiles has shared his “horror” after learning that he has a “naked lookalike” on OnlyFans.
A recent cover of the Sunday Sport newspaper featured a social worker called Mike, who claims to make a living impersonating Chiles on the paid content website, which is often used by sex workers.
Mike claims that he has been paid to strip while reading the weekend’s football scores, as well as being offered £500 to read Chiles’s Guardian column while masturbating.
Writing in said column in The Guardian, the former The One Show host said that he’d been sent the cover online, describing how “the pictures featured an all but naked man with his bits obscured”.
“He looked a little like me,” Chiles wrote. “Gingerly, I expanded the image so I could read the text. As soon as I’d got the gist of the story, recoiling in horror, I pinched...

It takes many people to fill Richard Osman’s shoes, and not just because he wears a size 14. Back in April 2021, the TV presenter, producer and novelist announced that he was leaving his co-presenter role on Pointless to focus on his hugely successful Thursday Murder Club book series and other projects. Due to the ‘stars we see in the night sky are actually hundreds of years in the past’ nature of TV broadcast, by that point, Osman was already four months out of the job. His final episode of the regular Pointless (he’ll still appear on the celebrity editions) was filmed in December 2021 and aired in July 2022, with this touching message to Alexander Armstrong.
When Pointless returned for Series 28 in September 2022, it came with a rotating clutch of new guest-hosts sitting behind Osman’s fact-checking desk. First up was Sally Lindsay, and following her were Stephen Mangan, Lauren Laverne,...

Dwayne Johnson was brought to tears during an appearance on The One Show alongside comedian Rob Delaney.
Catastrophe star Delaney had recalled a time after the death of his two-year-old son, when The Rock reached out to offer support.
Delaney’s son passed away in January 2018, having undergone two years of treatment for a brain tumour.
Appearing alongside Johnson and Noah Centineo on The One Show, Delaney said: “We hadn’t [worked together] at this point but yeah he sent me a lovely tweet after Henry died which he didn’t have to do, you know?
“And that was very sweet and made me feel great, and then a couple of years later we did Hobbs and Shaw.”
In response to Delaney’s anecdote, Johnson was seen visibly tearing up on the One Show sofa.
He explained that Delaney’s grief had impacted him thanks to his own experience as a father of three girls.

Channel 4 has enjoyed a swipe at the ongoing cost of living crisis in a message marking the 100th anniversary of the BBC.
The broadcaster celebrated its centenary on 18 October, having originally been established back in 1922.
In a tweet, rival broadcaster Channel 4, which was not founded until 60 years after the BBC, wished it a “Happy Birthday”, but took the chance to make a joke about the current state of the UK.
“Happy Birthday @BBC on your 100th birthday!” wrote the official Channel 4 account, alongside a “party popper” emoji.
“When you were founded we had a King, no one knew if they could afford to put their heating on and we’d just lived through a global pandemic. Times really do change!”
The BBC itself is marking the occasion in a number of ways.

British broadcasters are reviewing their TV schedules daily in the lead up to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II next Monday, striking a balance between tribute programing and some shows that were previously due to air.
Queen Elizabeth II died Thursday aged 96 and the country is in mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the globe and multiple events canceled.

News that doctors were “concerned” about Queen Elizabeth II’s health on Thursday lunchtime threw long-planned U.K. broadcast schedules into disarray almost immediately – and the disruptions will likely continue for weeks.
The statement from Buckingham Palace, issued at 12.30pm local time, was unprecedented and experienced broadcasters immediately realized the situation was serious. U.K. Parliament had been informed about 10 minutes earlier, with Prime Minister Liz Truss and leader of the opposition Keir Starmer discreetly passed notes detailing the situation in the House of Commons.
BBC One was the first network to break programming some 10 minutes after the statement was published. An episode of “Bargain Hunt” – a long-running series which sees two teams competing to cheaply source antiques and flip them for a profit – was interrupted by BBC newsreader Joanna Gosling, who said: “Welcome to viewers on BBC One. We have had news from Buckingham Palace that the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral.

At first, “Stranger Things” was looking like a flop…at least, according to actor David Harbour.
Despite the hit Netflix series breaking streaming records and spurring a whole franchise complete with a spin-off series and stage play adaptation, the Duffer Brothers-helmed ’80s-set teen sci-fi series was an underdog project from the start.
“I remember when we were shooting the first season. We were down in Atlanta, Netflix had given us a budget of about 20,” star Harbour explained on BBC’s “The One Show” (via Insider). “Halfway through I remember my hair person coming up to me, like about Episode Four, we were shooting, and she was like, ‘I don’t think it’s gonna work.'”
Harbour continued, “By the time we finished, we wrapped, I thought we wouldn’t get a second season, we’d be the first Netflix show kind of ever to never get a second season.

David Harbour didn't think Stranger Things would be renewed after the first season, and boy, we're glad he was wrong. The star is gearing up to play Hopper in season five of the Netflix series, a sentence that he never thought he'd utter. "I remember when we were shooting the first season. We were down in Atlanta, Netflix had given us a budget of about 20," he said on the BBC's The One Show, according to the Av Club. "Halfway through I remember my hair person coming up to me, like about episode four we were shooting, and she was like, 'I don't think it's gonna work.'" He continued, "By the time we finished, we wrapped, I thought we wouldn't get a...
