- J.R. Ewing: [warned by Harv Smithfield not to try bribing a judge] I've already lost John Ross. I'm going to do everything in my power to get him back. Everything, Harv.
- Patricia Shepard: You know that your lawyer told you that J.R. would have to move a mountain to get an appeal to that custody decision.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: J.R. has moved mountains before.
- J.R. Ewing: So, Pam, I believe the choice is yours.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I know that it appears as if I've been dragging my feet on this decision. Miss Nero, I apologize if I've complicated matters for you or your company.
- Angelica Nero: It all depends on your answer, of course.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, I'm cautious. And since I'm a relative newcomer to the oil business, I wanted to be sure that I had the best possible information upon which to base my decision.
- J.R. Ewing: [speaking down] Well now, we realize that you are new at this, but... Miss Nero would like to let her office know if we're in or out before its closing today.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Everything I've reviewed supports the fact that this co-venture would be good for Ewing Oil.
- [all regard her with baited breath]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: This may be a first, I agree with J.R. I think we should move ahead with the project.
- J.R. Ewing: [went smoothly, obviously expected it not to] Well, thanks, Pam.
- Angelica Nero: So we can instruct our attorneys to draw up the agreement then?
- J.R. Ewing: [jovial] Yes, the sooner the better!
