A trailer for Martin Owen's horror satire 'L.A. Slasher' has arrived bringing with it slickness, a classic 80's tune and an Andy Dick voiceover. 'Death to Reality' cries out the new trailer so much so that you could be mistaken to think that that is the actual title to the feature from writer/director Owen. 'L.A. Slasher' stars Mischa Barton ('Apartment 1303'), Dave Bautista, Marisa Lauren, Danny Trejo ('VANish'), Abigail Wright, Drake Bell, Andy Dick, Brooke Hogan, Eric Roberts, Frank Collison, Elizabeth Morris, Korrina Rico and hottie Tori Black (below). And even though the trailer has a souped-up music video feel to it hopefully the accompanying synopsis below will help clear things up a bit....

Canada Day was two days ago, but it should probably be officially extended in order to celebrate the 30th birthday of Corey Sevier. He got his start as a child star, best known as Timmy for two seasons on the 1997 series remake of Lassie, and as Dan for two seasons on the series Little Men, but his adult career has been steadily growing, both on TV and the big screen
Speaking of steadily growing, so has his shirtless portfolio. So on his birthday, let’s take a look at the shirtless evolution of Corey over the last decade.
2004 – Decoys
2005 – North Shore
2006 – Gospel Of Deceit
2007 – Surf School
2010 – The Lost Future
2011 – Age Of The Dragons
2011 – 5th & Alameda
2011 – Immortals
2012 – Awaken
2012 – Osombie
2013 – Apartment 1303
Corey is currently starring on the Lifetime series Cedar Cove (which comes back for Season Two on July 19th), and while he hasn’t had any shirtless scenes yet, we have faith in him!

Apartment 1303 is the American remake of a Japanese Horror film of the same name and tells the story of two sisters moving into an apartment inhabited by a vengeful spirit.
Like a bunch of remakes, this one is devoid of thrills, chills, suspense or substance and falls flat like the supposed unfortunate victims that fall from the apartment in this film.
The great set up is all there but the film soon descends into poor form showcasing clichés we have seen time and time again, presenting paper-thin characters that muster up little sympathy and has a script that I was hoping would be a good creepy time but winds up being lacklustre and painfully dull.
For me, Director Michael Taverna – who also wrote the screenplay here – wasn’t effective enough in crafting the required scares and doesn’t seem to have an understanding...

Moviefone's Top DVD of the Week:
"Iron Man 3"
What's It About? Directed by Shane Black ("Lethal Weapon 2"), the third installment of the "Iron Man" franchise follows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as his world is torn apart by the terrorist the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). When Stark's family life is affected by the evil villain, he embarks on a journey to find out who is responsible.
Why We're In: "Iron Man 3," Moviefone's #1 movie of 2013 so far, is different from its two predecessors in that it shows a new, vulnerable side of Tony Stark we'd yet to see. Filled with more serious emotion rarely found in superhero films, this third installment was a refreshing and much needed surprise to the genre.
Moviefone's Top Blu-ray of the Week:
"3 Films by Roberto Rossellini Starring Ingrid Bergman: 'Stromboli - Terra Di Dio' | 'Europe '51' | 'Journey to Italy'" (Criterion Collection)

A rather typical ratings bulletin today with a smattering of titles we've never heard of, a couple of recognizable direct-to-video titles such as Hatchet III and Danny Trejo's Vengeance, then a few of note such as the PG-13 for The Wolverine, a grisly R-rating for You're Next and then a PG for Disney's animated Cars spinoff, Planes. The R-rating for Zachary Heinzerling's documentary Cutie and the Boxer (August 16) is interesting seeing how it's for "nude art images". At some point can't we just admit that everyone has seen someone nakedc Here's the trailer. The complete bulletin follows: Apartment 1303 Rated R For language, some violent content and brief sexuality. Battle Ground Rated R For war violence and grisly images. Cutie And The Boxer Rated R For nude art images. Danny Trejo's Vengeance Rated R For strong violence, language and some nudity. Free Samples Rated R For brief language. Before the success of Paranormal Activity made found-footage horror the next “big thing” in fright flicks, Hollywood’s go-to place for ideas was eastern Asia. Following the 2002 smash hit The Ring, based on Hideo Nakata’s 1998 Japanese success Ring, no fewer than 10 additional wide release American features based on Asian horror films were released up through 2009, with four in 2008 alone. Some – The Grudge, mainly, and The Ring Two to a lesser extent – were big hits, while others like Pulse disappointed at the box office. With critical reception no better than any other horror subgenre (2008′s One Missed Call remake got a pitiful 0% on RottenTomatoes) and dwindling consumer interest, the fad died off after the early 2009 release of The Uninvited.

Director: Michael Taverna. Review: Adam Wing. Arriving approximately fifteen years too late, Apartment 1303 is a terrifying shocker based on the highly acclaimed (that’s what it says here) J-horror film of the same name. I say terrifying but what I really mean is terrifyingly bad. I say shocker but what I really mean is shocking. Starring Mischa Barton (The Oc, The Sixth Sense), Rebecca De Mornay (The Hand that Rocks the Cradle) and Julianne Michelle (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Apartment 1303 is released through Koch Media this June, available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD. I was starting to think the curse of the J-horror remake had passed, but this 2012 offering is further proof that you can’t keep a dead girl down. Hollywood will continue to raid the vaults of Asian cinema over the next few years, with remakes of Oldboy and Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance looking most likely to offend,...

For those of you who are Jhorror fans this title and plot may sound familiar Apartment 1303 was released in Japan in 2007. Michael Tavernas English language remake of Apartment 1303 has received mostly negative reviews on the Indie circuit but it has qualities that will attract an audience once it is officially released. For one the remake boasts some worthy acting talent including Mischa Barton from The O.C. and the forever beautiful Rebecca DeMornay. Plus the producers as apparent in the title will capitalize on the latest gimmick for theatrical release 3D.

Osama Bin Laden is back. Except, this time, he's a zombie in the indie horror film Osombie. No, we're not making this up.
The film is currently in post-production and a trailer has been released. Surprisingly, the production value is fairly solid and it approaches the material with a straight face. Eve Mauro co-stars; you might remember her from Wicked Lake. And Corey Sevier, of the upcoming Apartment 1303, is the leading man who finds every chance to tear off his shirt. Behind the camera is director John Lyde.
